Current Report: This stormy weather is going to change the fishing conditions again. Just when we think the water has cleared enough to start trolling for stripers the weather hits. The murky conditions shouldn't hurt the sturgeon fishing. The sturgeon fiehing came alive this last Sunday. Middle Grounds and Port Chicago area were the hot spots. After the big storm yesterday we will see how the sturgeon fishing is tomorrow. We will be out Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If the rain settles again it shouldn't take more than a few weeks for the river to clear again for striper fishing. This rain could be the thing that really triggers the sturgeon to continue a good feeeding pattern. We will let you know.

Current Report: It is starting out to be a stormy weekend. The Fish 'n' Fool IV will not be on the water this weekend. Barry will be doing seminars at Bass Pro Shop in Manteca starting tonight at 8pm. The next seminar will be on Sunday, Feb. 28 at 3pm. We will be at Bass Pro from starting at noon on Sunday. Barry will be talking about trolling for stripers in the delta. He will have the new P-LIne Predator lures including the 'Angry Eye' to show and they should be available at Bass Pro in two to three weeks. This could be a good weekend to come and listen to the Pro's speak at Bass Pro Shop and get ready for the striper trolling season. There are definately stripers moving into the delta in good numbers now. The trolling season is getting ready to break open. Come down to Manteca and say HI!!

Current Report: This beautiful calm warm weather is warming the water and the fishing is picking up. The stripers are moving into the delta and the sturgeon are beginning to feed a little more. There has been some good sturgeon action around the Moth Ball Fleet, Big Cut, Cache Slough. The sturgeon fisherman are using shrimp baits, eel, roe and shad. This is the time that you put shad on the hook. The sturgeon like that bait and the stripers will attack it. The conditions are looking good through the rest of the month. The water is really starting to clear. The next thing we know we will be trolling for stripers. There is a lot of action for sturgeon and stripers. We have lots of availability throug this month. Call if you want to get fishing for sturgeon and stripers.
Date: Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 15:22:31
Current Report: We have not been out fishing the last couple of days. Monday, was a little better fishing than the last couple of weeks. The Fish 'n' Fool IV had 4 anglers aboard and they caught 2 shaker sturgeon. Unfortunately, neither of the sturgeon hit the slot limit but we definately had a lot more action. The water is warming and starting to clear a little. We are looking forward to getting out again. The action will, hopefully, continue to pick up. The tides look good for this next week. The weather has not been a big factor. The little bit of rain comes and goes which has kept good fresh water coming into the delta. It'll only be a few weeks and the striper fishing should also start picking up. The Fish 'n' Fool IV continues to leave from the City of Pittsburg Marina and is looking forward to some good sturgeon fishing.
Date: Sunday, January 31, 2010 at 13:12:52
Current Report: The rain has come the weather has had some nice breaks but with the big tides and the full moon the sturgeon fishing has not picked up like we had hoped. This could change next week. This last week the Fish 'n' Fool IV had poor results on the sturgeon. The sturgeon seemed to be on the move but it was hard to figure out what direction they were moving. Today, the fishermen aboard the Fish 'n' Fool IV have boated a 7 pound striper and all the fish seem to getting more active. There seems to be some concentration of sturgeon below the Benicia Bridge but the fish contimue to move daily. The dirty water finally hit down below Pittsburg but with the nicer weather has started to clear somewhat. The smaller tides should start producing some better action. We will be out searching for the hot spots this next week. Just give us a call if you want to join us.
Date: Friday, January 22, 2010 at 16:42:28
Current Report: The rain has started doing its job. We had a private charter aboard the Fish 'n' Fool IV today and had great sturgeon action. The Middle Grounds area is full of sturgeon but it was a bit windy this morning to fish. We ended up in 30 feet of water and had great action. The baits we were using were eel, roe and brined ghost shrimp. All the baits had action. We caught a shaker on the eel and landed a 65 incher on the salmon roe. The Diamond Classic Catch and Release Derby should have good results tomorrow. We will be fishing the derby and will have a group out on Sunday, too. This fresh water is definately making the fishing better. The water temperature is at 50 degrees and the sturgeon are very active. We are looking forward to some real good fishing in the next couple of weeks. Now is the time to think about some good sturgeon action.
Date: Friday, January 15, 2010 at 17:01:51
Current Report: The 4th Annual Diamond Classic Catch and Release Sturgeon Derby will be January 23, 2010. We have a group fishing but I know that if you have a group that would like to fish this derby you can contact Fury Sport Fishing. They will consider bringing the boat to Martinez for the event. The number for Fury Sport Fishing is 1-800-499-6465. The current fishing report is just below this entry.
Date: Friday, January 15, 2010 at 16:53:37
Current Report: Well, the rain has started. Hopefully, it will continue to rain as they are predicting. We have not been on the water for a few days now. The fishing was slow the last few days we fished. The sturgeon are in the system but they were just not eating most of the days. The striper fishing is slow too. We are anxious to get back on the water after or during the rain. At this time we are scheduled to go fishing this Monday and Wednesday but it will all depend on the wind that will come with the storm. This rain is what we need to sweeten the river and flush out the river. We are looking forward to some good fishing after the rain.
Date: Friday, January 8, 2010 at 15:52:51
Current Report: The winter bite for stripers and sturgeon continues in the delta. One day the fish will eat and the next day you find fish but they do not seem to want anything you have to offer them for food. This is what is going on right now. There are stripers and sturgeon in many areas of the delta. We have a couple of good days catching stripers but we have not been able to do it for a few days in a row. There are a lot of starry flounder that we have been catching on all types of bait. The delta could definately improve with a good rain storm. We really need some fresh water coming down the river to perk up the feeding patterns of the fish. Hopefully, the rain will come. We are running combination striper and sturgeon trips the next couple of weeks. The boat is still at the City of Pittsburg Marina and any of the fish are not far away from the dock. This can be the time that you catch a big fish.
Date: Monday, December 28, 2009 at 14:43:43
Current Report: Boy, yesterday was a real disappointing fishing day. The rain came but the fish did not eat. It was a very slow striper fishing day. We moved around and found stripers on the fishfinder but could not entice them to eat any of the baits that we had. What a difference a day makes. Today, the stripers are feeding. We have 5 anglers aboard the Fish 'n' Fool IV and they have all boated some stripers. They have kept stripers from 6 to 10 pounds and have had lots of action. This is the time of the year you need to be where the fish want to eat. Shad has been the best bait. The sturgeon are much more active today. Hopefully, we can catch one of the active sturgeon, also. We have some ghost shrimp, eel and shad which the sturgeon could eat. We will be celebrating Christmas with the rest of our family tomorrow and will be back fishing on Wednesday.
Date: Sunday, December 27, 2009 at 09:05:53
Current Report: Happy Holidays to all!! The fishing continues in the delta for stripers and sturgeon. Yesterday, the group of anglers aboard the Fish 'n' Fool IV had a lot of good action catching stripers. All the action came on shad for bait. There were a few more smaller stripers that have moved in again and they ran right off the clicker with the bait. The bigger fish are still just taking the bait but not running too far. We have been in some areas marking a lot of fish but not having tons of action. Then we get to the right part of the tide and the stripers decide to eat. A couple of the days we have had action all day and other days all the fish go at one time. It is important to watch the rods on the balancer so that you don't miss the feeding fish. The stugeon are jumping but not always eating every day. Both the stripers and sturgeon are in many locations in the delta. It's time that you can try some new areas if you find some fish on your fishfinders. This winter bite will continue through the next couple of months. The little bit of rain we had last night should again spark some fresh water movement which should make for some better fishing conditions. We'll know that later today.
Date: Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 12:16:04
Current Report: The Fish 'n' Fool IV continues to work each day. The weather has cooperated and the fishing for stripers continues to be good. The turns of the tide are when the best action has been the last couple of days and shad has been the best bait with still a little action on bullheads. Yesterdays group of anglers took home stripers between 5 to 12 pounds. The four anglers today have caught stripers to 8 pounds and on shad have a 60 inch sturgeon that took some shad. This is the time of the year that both the stripers and sturgeon are searching for food and either can be caught in many of the same areas. If you want to get in on some of the good winter fishing give us a call.
Date: Monday, December 14, 2009 at 15:13:03
Current Report: The winter bite is going strong. This is the time of the year to catch a big fish. The colder water makes the little fish much less aggressive. That means that the bigger fish have a chance to hook up on the bait. Today, the group of anglers caugth and released a 24 pound striper. There has not been any shaker action the last couple of days. All the stripers taking the bait are keepers. So far, most of the daytime fishing has been good. The rain has been coming later in the afternoons and evenings which has made for good fishing days. The water is cold but if you pay attention you can catch a lot of nice striper. There are also some nice sturgeon around which will take the bait. We are happy to be in the winter fishing mode. It is a lot of fun and can be very rewarding. Let us know if you would like to get in on some fun fishing.
Date: Friday, December 11, 2009 at 14:30:51
Current Report: This cold and rainy weather has cooled the water to about 48 degrees but the stripers and sturgeon are still here. Today, the Fish 'n' Fool IV had six anglers aboard targeting striped bass. The stripers are going for the bait but are not running with the bait at all. They take the bait and just pull it down. This is when balance fishing is most efffective because you can see the action on your rod. The only successful bait today was shad. The group kept 8 stripers from 5 to 15 pounds. Not one of the stripers took off running. They were fishing in about 18 feet of water in the lower Suisun Bay. They caught the stripers on the incoming and the outgoing tide. There were a few shakers released along with the good keeper action. The sturgeon are still active in the Suisun Bay. There have been keepers, oversize and shakers caught the last couple of days. This nice rain today can only continue to improve the fishing. We will be out the next few days for stripers and then some sturgeon fishing.
Date: Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 19:03:04
Current Report: The windy weather slowed the fishing once again. Today, the action picked up again. The fish are biting on the tidal change and some of the other parts of the tide can be slow. The Fish 'n' Fool IV had 3 anglers today who took home stripers to 8 pounds. There were some bigger stripers taken. The best baits have been shad and bullheads. The sturgeon have been biting in Little Cut. Some of the sturgeon are shakers and some are keepers. We will have a group out again tomorrow to try for striped bass. The water is clearing after the winds. Hopefully, we will get some more rain to freshen the water.
Date: Friday, November 27, 2009 at 18:51:26
Current Report: It is Thanksgiving Week and the stripers are here. We have been fishing the Chain Island and Broad Slough area for good numbers and size of striped bass. The best baits have been shad and bullheads. Twenty feet of water has been the most productive depth and the shad has been the hot bait on the incoming tide and the bullheads have worked the best on the outgoing tide. There has been good action on both the tides. The sturgeon are also in the area and with shrimp, eel and a little roe some sturgeon have been picked up. The Fish 'n' Fool IV will have a group out again tomorrow. Today, the weather was up and down for wind but the stripers were still active on the baits. Finally, it is time to get sme of the active fall striper fishing. Let us know if you would like to go. Just give us a call to book a trip. The rest of this month and December should produce some great fishing.
Date: Sunday, November 22, 2009 at 18:54:51
Current Report: Finally, the five anglers aboard the Fiah 'n' Fool IV had a very active day catching stripers and sturgeon. It was planned to striper fish. The baits were fresh shad, bullheads and live shiners. At the end of the incoming tide the rod that was rigged up with a live shiner, tail hooked with a circle hook took off. They were fly lining with no weight. All aboard thought a big striper got a hold of the bait and started running. The fish went forward and got caught around the anchor chain. As they got control of the fish they saw that it was a sturgeon. They finally landed a 51 inch sturgeon. What a great fight. The rest of the day was dedicated to catching some very nice stripers. The biggest striper caught was 14 pounds and the other nine fish went from 5 to 9 pounds. This is the action that we have been waiting for. The best bait was the bullheads and then the shad. Most of the fish were caught in the Broad Slough area. We will be out again tomorrow to get in on some more good fishing. This is the action that we are use to this time of the year. The Thanksgiving bite has begun.
Date: Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 10:59:37
Current Report: The Fish 'n' Fool IV has had groups of anglers fishing for the last couple of weeks and has found the striper fishing and the sturgeon fishing to be slow for this time of the year. Where have all the large fish gone has been the question asked by all the anglers who fish the delta this time of the year. WE DESPERATELY NEED SOME GOOD RAIN FALL TO FLUSH THE DELTA. Finally, today we are finding a few larger stripers but not the quantities that we would normally expect. This week is suppose to bring rain which we hope will last more than one day. There does not seem to be any one real good spot to catch the big stripers. There are a few being caugth but it is one fish here and one fish there. The fall bait locations are just now begnning to look like they should have in October. We will continue to search for the big stripers and sturgeon and pray for some good rain to enhance the delta with some fresh water. Each day is different and we know that the catching should get better through the month of December. This has been a late fall and the winter is slowly approaching. In the next couple of weeks we should be reporting on real good fishing for stripers and sturgeon.
Date: Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 12:36:04
Current Report: We could not ask for any nicer weather than we havwe been experiencing the last few days. The water is beginning to cool some but it is taking time. The majority of the stripers are small but there are a few big ones getting caught. Bait fishing with bullheads, shad and shrimp continues to be the best attack to catch the stipers. There are a lot of sturgeon in the Pittsburg area. There are also a lot of shaker diamondsides. With the smaller tides we have been fishing a little deeper water for both the stripers and sturgeon. The catches have been small fish the last couple of trips but there has been a lot of action. Hopefully, we will get some more rain to flush the delta a bit. The larger stripers should be making their way into the Pittsburg area for some good fishing in the next couple of weeks. The Fish 'n' Fool IV will have anglers trying to get those bigger bass and sturgeon almost everyday the next couple of weeks. We'll let you what kind of success we are getting.
Date: Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 12:59:52
Current Report: Sorry for the delay in posting this last weeks fishing trips. The Fish 'n' Fool IV has been fishing above and below the Pittsburg Marina. They fished the Antioch area but found with lots of baits in the water it was too grassy during the moving tide. They did catch a couple of stripers but they were small. The best action has been in the deeper water just below the Marina. Also, the Seal Island area has produced stripers but the small dungeness crabs will eat the bait. The best baits have been bullheads, shad and grass shrimp. With the slower tides the deeper water has produced some better stripers to keep. We will be reporting the results of the next few days. The Fish 'n' Fool IV has groups going out through the weekend. This is the time of the year that we have been waiting to fish. The stripers and the sturgeon are in the area and the fishing should be good. There a lot of shaker sturgeon in the area which produces a lot of action. Just give us a call if you would like to join us for some fun fishing.
Date: Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11:08:44
Current Report: This last weekend fishing fo4r stripers was a little slower than earlier in the week due to the slower tides. As the tides begin to build again the fishing should get better. We caught three keeper striper to 8 pounds on Saturday. The action even on the smaller fish slowed down. The weather was nice and the water temperature is still up at about 60 degrees. As the days get shorter and the cooler weather hits the water should start lowering in temperature and the bait fishing should be very good. We have been fishing in about 13 to 20 feet of water and have been presenting threadfin shad and bullheads as the best bait for the stripers. Our trips for November are filling in quickly. If you want to get out on a fun striper fishing trip just give us a call.
Date: Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 16:59:49
Current Report: Sorry for the late report for this last weekend but we had one of our boat engines go down. With any luck we will be back on the water by Saturday. We had real good striper fishing at Seal Island in 16 feet of water. Bullheads and shad were the top baits. We were fishing the bullheads with circle hooks and brined filleted shad with dyed heads. The stripers ran from 4 to 20 pounds and the best bite was on the incoming tide. I think all the rain we had brought the stripers up from the San Pablo Bay. They were full of shiners and grass shrimp. We will be back out Monday and we do have room on the week days. Remember Noverber is the best month for bait fishing for stripers. Give us a call if you want to get in on some real good striped bass fishing.
Date: Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 15:11:31
Current Report: Our striper fishing went well over last weekend. We didn't get any derby winners but we did catch some stripers. The best baits were bullheads and shad. There were 5 stripers measured in at the Rio Vista Bass Derby on the target size of 33 inches. All five stripers took derby prizes. We did not go out on Sunday which turned out to be VERY Windy. The rain that came yesterday is what the delta system needs. The conditions are improving today. Tomorow, we will get out on the river to check the conditions and will be back fishing on Friday. The winds should be down and the fishing should be good. This good rainfall should sweeten the water and start bringing some larger stripers into the delta system. We will be fishing through the weekend and the rest of the month the days are filling in for some good striper trips. Just give us a call if you would like to get on the boat for some good fall striper fishing.
Date: Thursday, October 8, 2009 at 16:00:29
Current Report: Today was a good day of striper fishing. The Fish 'n' Fool IV had four anglers aboard that had a great time bait fishing with shad and bullheads. Both the shad and the bullheads produced about the same mumber of fish. The fishermen kept their limits of stripers to 9 pounds. The total number of fish to the boat was about fifteen. Some of the fish were small but there was only one or two shakers in the bunch. This was a new bunch of stripers. They were bright and a little bigger that what we had been catching earlier this week. This cooler water is bringing in some new stripers. We will be out tomorrow and Saturday for the Rio Vista Bass Derby. Hopefully, we can get lucky and catch a striper in the slot size that is announced. We sure will try. Good luck to all the fisherman in the Derby.
Date: Monday, October 5, 2009 at 11:51:40
Current Report: The water is finally beginning to cool down with the shorter days and the colder days and nights. Saturday, was very windy amd it made for a tough fishing day. We boated just a couple of fish and they were small. Sunday, with four angler was much more productive. We ended up limiting with stripers to 9 pounds. The beginning of the incoming tide was when all the action began and it did not stop. Threadfin shad and bullheads were the baits we were using and they both produced keeper stripers. The cooler weather definatley makes it feel like fall time fishing. The conditions look good for the Rio Vista Bass Derby this coming weekend. We will be out this next week and will try to get our clients some fish they can measure in for the derby. The weekends are beginning to fill in quickly the rest of October and November. If you want to get in on some of this great striper fishing give us a call.
Date: Monday, September 28, 2009 at 12:46:44

Now is the time to striper fish. This week is filling up but there is still quite a bit of room to book through October except for the Rio Vista Bass Derby weekend. The bigger stripers are moving in the delta and with a little cool down in the temperature and the shorter days should enhance the catch. Just give us a call to get on the Fish 'n' Fool IV. If you are interested in buying a great fishing boat the Fish 'n' Fun is all cleaned up an is for sale. Anyone interested can give us a call. It has all the fishing extras on it.

Current Report: What a great day of fishing the delta we had today. The Fish 'n' Fool IV had 4 anglers aboard to fish for stripers. The day was spent bait fishing in the Middle Grounds area. The weather was calm and hot and the day started with the outgoing tide. The fisherman caught and released probably over 20 stripers total, some of the catch was undersize but the mafority were keepers. The fisherman kept their limit of stripers from 5 to 7 pounds. The incoming tide produced the bigger stripers. Both bullheads and fresh shad were very productive baits. The fish were very aggressive about taking the bait. It was a real fun day of fishing. We will be out again tomorrow with a small load of anglers. The bait fishing is beginning to get good. This is the time of the year that both bait fishing and trolling can be an effective way to catch striped bass. If you want to get in on some of this fun fishing, give us a call. Current Report: This last Sunday the five anglers aboard the Fish 'n' Fool IV had a ball catching stripers bait fishing. They fished in 10 to 12 feet of water and the best bait was the little live bullheads. Seal Island and Middle Grounds were the best spots for catching the stripers. Most of all the fish were keepers but the biggest fish came from the Middle Grounds area. Most of the stripers were just keeper size but a couple of them went up to 7 pounds. The kids aboard had fun catching and releasing the smaller fish and kept a five stripers to eat. We will not be out this coming weekend because of the Pittsburg Seafood Festival. We are anxcious to be back on the water next week. This is the beginning of the fall run of striped bass and it is looking like it will be a real good year. We have openings on quite a few of the days. If you want to get in on some of this fun fishing just give us call.
Date: Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 17:34:01
Current Report: The striper fishing in the delta continues to be good for small fish. We took 12 small bullheads fishing today and caught 12 stripers. The action is good both bait fishing and trolling. There are just a lot of the schoolie size stripers in the delta system right now. As the water cools the larger stripers will make their way into the delta to winter. We certainly can't complain about the action that we have had this last week. We will be out again tomorrow and have quite a bit of room lots of the days if you would like to try some of this striper fishing,
Date: Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 17:07:52

Current Report: The stripers are back and so are we. Today we found stripers all over the delta with the sac, river around decker island being the best. We troled both shallow and deep with luck both. The stripers went from 4 to 6 pounds and looked to be fresh run fish. Most of the stripers came on the income tide in 12 to 14 feet of water. We will be back out Sunday but we do lots of rum next week, This look liked the start of the fall run and it look good.
Date: Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 15:42:28
Current Report: We thought that we were all set to go down to Moss Landing to fish for albacore for a few days this week. All the trips we had scheduled fell apart, so we will not be going down there. The Fish 'n' Fool IV is going back in the berth at the City of Pittsburg Marina to get in on some of the good early striper fishing that has begun in the delta. The stripers are starting to move into the delta in real good numbers. Most of the catching is done trolling. The numbers very from 6 or 7 stripers to 50 or 60 a day. This is the beginning of the good striper fishing that we have been waiting to fish. Just give us a call to get on the boat for some of this good fishing in the delta.
Date: Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 13:04:44

Current Report: The Fish 'n' Fool IV was out shark fishing today in the Bay. The weather was beautiful and the fishing was good. The four anglers aboard each took home two leopard shark. The biggest leopards were hooked using midshipman and salmon roe for bait. The ocean is once again getting rolly. We will be spending the rest of this week in Richmond doing pot luck fishing or shark. We have quite a bit of open space if you are interested in doing some halibut and striper fishing. We are in the planning stages of moving the Fish 'n' Fool IV to Moss Landing for albacore fishing. This is a much easier boat ride and much closer spot to the location of the albacore. The plan is to be down there from August 23 to the 30th. We are putting these charters together now. If you are interested in albacore fishing give us a call. We will move the boat back home to Pittsburg at the end of the month and will fish for stripers and sturgeon out of our home base in Pittsburg. Call us, and get in on some of this fun fishing.
Date: Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 09:42:42
Current Report: The Fish 'n' Fool IV is back in the Bay potluck fishing. The halibut fishing has been good. On Saturday, the anglers aboard fished the North Bar and Paradise for 8 nice halibut to 14 pounds. On Sunday, the Fish 'n' Fool IV started at South Hampton Shoal catching 3 nice halibut early. Then they headed out to the South Bar for some more halibut and ended the day inside the Bay at Paradise. There were halibut at all the locations. The live sardines have been a very good bait for the larger halibut. They are also drifting brined achovies. The Fish 'n' Fool IV will be spending a couple of weeks in the SF Bay leaving from Marina Bay Harbor in Richmond. They will be setting up some albacore fishing in the next week if the weather and water cooperate. This week end we have room for halibut and striper fishing in the bay or outside on the beaches. The weather has been cool but very fishable. The daytime tides could produce halibut and stripers. Give us a call if you would like some of this fun saltwater fishing.

Current Report: The Fish 'n' Fool IV was in the delta fishing sturgeon on Tuesday and Wednesday. The continuous windy weather has made the fishing in the delta quite a challenge. The group on Tuesday headed for Suisun and Montezuma Sloughs. It was fishable but they could not find the sturgeon on the bottom that had been there a few days earlier. The catfish were the only active biting fish. On Wednesday, they decided to the Antioch Bridge. The wind, again, was not cooperative. They made their way to Piper Slough were they found a deep hole and some calm water. They anchored up and threw out some grass shrimp and shad. The stripers came alive. For the first hour it was non-stop fishing. Most of the stripers were all keepers. There were no big fish but the stripers they kept were all 21 to 23 inches. They moved into Fishermans Cut but did not have anymore real good action. The sturgeon and striper fishing should be good when the wind goes down.
Barry was out on the "Top Kat" yesterday for albacore but found it slow. They ended up catching some nice rock fish at the Farrallons with the biggest fish a large cabazon. Today, the Fish 'n' Fool IV moved back to the SF Bay for some live bait trips and albacore trips, if the weather permits it. This weekend they will be out for halibut and striper fishing. They will fish the Bay or the beaches on the Ocean. If you would like to do any of this fishing give us a call.
Date: Friday, July 24, 2009 at 12:26:12
Current Report: The Fish 'n' Fool IV is back in the delta fishing for sturgeon and striped bass. We had a group of 4 anglers on Wednesday and boated one small sturgeon and had four jump all around us. The wind in the delta has been the biggest problem for sturgeon fishing. Montezuma and Suisun Sloughs have been a good bet for the sturgeon when the wind is up. The best bait has been eel and grass shrimp for the sturgeon. There are a few of the stripers starting to make their way back to the delta. There is still some good halibut and striper fishing down in S.F. Bay and out on the beaches. The slower tides are the best for the halibut and the faster tides usually produce the best striper drifting. The live sardines and frozen achovies we have found to be real good bait. The live anchovies have just been too small to buy. We will be back down in the Bay for halibut, stripers and albacore, if the weather outside permits us to go, the first week in August. The Fish 'n' Fool IV is booked for Bay fishing on Sunday, August 2 and Tuesday, August 4. There is availablity for Bay fishing the rest of that week. Or, we could possibly put an albacore trip together if the weather and the fish permit it. We will be out this weekend in the delta fishing for the big sturgeon. If you would like to try any of this fishing, just give us a call.
Date: Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 08:55:10
Current Report: Yesterday, our live bait trip drifting the north beaches outside the Golden Gate was very successful. Our group of 4 anglers got limits of halibut to 31 pounds. The live sardines worked very well and also brined anchovies. The fishing was very steady. The weather was calm and cool. The Fish 'n' Fool IV will be outside again today and tomorrow for halibut and stripers. Then we will be back in the delta for a couple of sturgeon fishing trips this next week. Just give us a call if you are interested in delta, bay or albacore fishing. We will be doing all this the next few weeks.
Date: Friday, July 17, 2009 at 10:09:50
Current Report: Yesterday, the Fish 'n' Fool IV went out for albacore but Wednesday was the good catching day. The weather was pretty flat but the catching was slower. We ended up with one good albacore for each person. We started catching fish about 44 miles from the Golden Gate and ended up about 60 miles away. Our bay trip for halibut on Wednesday was good. We fished Paradise area most of the day. Today, we are back fishing for halibut and stripers. We are using live bait and some frozen bait. We will fish the beaches for some larger halibut. Tomorrow, we will continue fishing for striper and sturgeon.
Date: Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 09:17:47
Current Report: This is our week down fishing the Bay and ocean. The Fish 'n' Fool IV got bait and took off from Richmond, Marina Bay, yesterdday, and headed out to the beaches for stripers and halibut. The small anchovies didn't last long but the sardines are a good bait. It started out slow drifting Stinson Beach. The north bar ended up being the best location for the good halibut. They caught 8 halibut to 10 pounds and lost a good striper at Muir Beach. Today, the boat headed to S. F. for bait. They will work the Bay for stripers and halibut. The live bait continues to be a problem. There are different locations for the bait but they don't always have bait or they do not open. The Fish'n'Fool IV is scheduled to go for albacore tomorrow but has not made the final decision about the weather. I'll let you know how all these trips go tomorrow.
Date: Sunday, July 5, 2009 at 16:02:18
Current Report: We were out on Friday with a small group sturgeon fishing. The wind was up again so we chose Montezuma Slough. The sturgeon were there and the it was nice and calm. The action was good. Unfortunately, the larger fish we lost before getting to the boat. The next week we will continue fishing the delta for sturgeon and striper and then head down to S. F. Bay for some halibut, striper and rock cod fishing. I was invited to go albacore fishing on the "Rather be Lucky" with Scott and Gracie. What a marvelous trip. We went 44 miles from Half Moon Bay on a flat ocean. The fishing was fabulous. The catch was all good quality albacore. This is looking like a good tuna year. We will start booking tuna trips in the next couple of weeks. Our price to fish albacore is $300 per person a maximum of 5 people. Give us a call if you are interested. This next week we still have room for sturgeon fishing.
Date: Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 09:54:12
Current Report: We have been out for three trips fishing for the sturgeon in the delta. None of the days added up to the day we had on 6/23 but there are some good sturgeon around. Each of the trips we caught a sturgeon but there are a lot of under size sturgeon in the system. We also caught a quite a few small stripers. The best baits continue to be eel, grass shrimp and shad. Last Sunday, I was fishing aboard the Top Kat out of Loch Lomond Marina and headed out to the ocean beaches for halibut and rock cod. We fished the Towers, Bolinas Bay and Stinson Beach. We caught a variety of fish both rock cod and halibut. The weather was beautiful which made for a nice trip. Yesterday, back in the delta, we the Fish 'n' Fool IV headed for Monteuma Slough for some more good sturgeon fishing. There are a lot of the diamondsides cruising in this slough right now. We had a few good take downs and lots of sturgeon jumping but could not get any of them to seriously take our bait. Monday, was there feeding day. In the same area Casey and his friends hit the spot that we fish and boated three keeper sturgeon to 65 inches. The sturgeon continue to stay around and it should continue to good fishing. We will be out fishing for the sturgeon again Friday. We still have quite a bit of room on most of our trips. If you want to get out for some good sturgeon fishing give us a call. The Fish 'n' Fool IV will be in Richmond for halibut, striper and rock cod from July 14 through July 19. Wed., July 16 and Thurs., July 17 are still open for some good ocean or bay fishing. Give us a call to book any of the trips.
Date: Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 16:22:39
Current Report: Finally, we got booked for fishing on a calm day and with the wind down the sturgeon turned on. Today, we had Nick and Greg, brothers, from Cincinnati, Ohio out on a sturgeon fishing trip. We started the day in Montezuma Slough and it was the end of the outgoing tide. Our first fish on was a 79 inch sturgeon, then a 69 incher and a 44 inch. All this was by 9:30 am. The baits we were using were grass shrimp and eel. The grass shrimp caught the fish. We moved down to the Mothball Fleet on the incoming tide and continued to get three more sturgeon. It was all catch and release. We couldn't have asked for a nicer day. The brothers left with smiles on their face. The Fish 'n' Fool IV will be out again tomorrow to continue the great sturgeon fishing. Tomorrow is another real light load and Saturday there is still room aboard. If you want to get into some good sturgeon fishing give us a call.
Date: Monday, June 22, 2009 at 12:44:57
Current Report: This last week we fished a mixed bag of stripers and sturgeon. We fished Broad Slough, Montezuma Slough, the Mothball fleet and caught both stripers and sturgeon but most of the fish were small. When bait fishing we used grass shrimp, shad and eel. The winds did subside a couple of the days making the fishing at the Mothball fleet and Broad Slough possible. The smaller tides and the incoming tide made for a lot of good action. We also, trolled the west bank of the Sacramento river for some small stripers. We will continue to do the combination striper and sturgeon fishing from the City of Pittsburg Marina until July 13. We are planning to fish the S. F. Bay and ocean July 14 through July 20th. Tuesday, July 14, Thursday, July 16 and Friday July 17 are still open for charters in the bay. We will be targeting stripers, halibut, and rock fish on the beaches and the surf outside or in the bay. The tides are nice and slow for this fishing. The Fish'n'Fool IV will return to City of Pittsburg Marina on July 20th to get back to striper and sturgeon fishing in the delta. We are planning to do some albacore fishing trips if and when they show up out in the ocean. This week we are open a few days for striper and sturgeon. This warm weather should slow the wind. We're looking forward to some good fishing.
Date: Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 17:07:56
Current Report: Sorry for not posting a fishing report lately. But, the windy weather has really made all the fishing very difficult. We moved the boat back to Pittsburg Marina a couple of weeks ago and have been out fishing a few times. We have been basically targeting sturgeon our last few trips but have caught the very windy days to fish so, the results of these trips have been a few small stripers and catfish. There are a lot of small stripers and some nice downstream stripers being caught on bait when the winds are down. The best bait has been threadfin shad. The sturgeon are in the system and we can't wait till the winds decrease to get to the areas that should produce some nice catches. The best bait for sturgeon has been eel, grass shrimp and ghost shrimp. The areas that show the most sturgeon are the Mothball Fleet, Montezuma and Suisun Sloughs. We have lots of room this weekend for fishing sturgeon and on Father's Day. As the weather gets better the fishing should also get much better. Give us a call to get aboard. We do have quite a bit of room through the month.
Date: Sunday, May 24, 2009 at 08:02:51
Current Report: We ended our spring striper run saterday after a slow week of fishing. We trolled moust of the week with no big numbers and fish to 8 pounds. Most of the stripers came on deep diver and around the Isleton Bridge. I try some bait sat. but the wind and the big outgo tide made the river very derty and not to much action. I will be taking the Fish"N" Fool IV back to Pittsburg on Tusday and will start fishing for Striper and Sturgeon wright a way. If you have not try Sturgeon in the summer give it a try some yesrs it is better then the winter. We did have a good spring but I think last year was better but still did good from April first. So give me a call and just maybe you might get that Sturgeon you been looking for.
Date: Sunday, May 17, 2009 at 14:31:33
Current Report: Here is the HOT (meaning the weather)weekend wrap up. Friday, we took the Top Kat from Loch Lomond down to south of the Dumbarton bridge for a hot day of shark fishing. What a day we had. We had double hook ups on leopard shark and caught a couple of leopards hat were 50 inches. We were fishing in 28 feet of water using midshipman and salmon roe for bait. Then, yesterday, we were back in the delta trolling for striped bass. It was a bit slow. We caught a few small fish, lost a bg fish at the net and only kept one decent striper. Today, we left the dock at 6am to try and beat the heat. We ended up catching about a dozen stripers for our 5 and 7 year old boys. They kept 3 of the larger fish and released the rest. All the stripers were spawned out. It looks like the spring run is beginning to wind down. Each day is very different. You can find fish one moment and in the next moment they are gone. We will be out in the delta again Tuesday to find some of the bigger stripers.
Date: Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 17:52:11
Current Report: Late report for Wednesday. We had just a great day of striper fishimg. This could mean a couple of things. Either we are at the end of the striper run or we just hit a big school of spawned out fish. We caught stripers all over but at the mouth of the old Sacramento River the stripers were stacked from top to the bottom. We were hooking up on every pass and even double hook ups but all the fish were spawned out both male and female. We won't be back out for stripers until Saturday so we will have to see what we find then. I will be running the Top Kat out of San Rafael tomorrow and we will be fishing the South Bay for sharks. For those of you who are wondering what we are going to do this summer at this time we will move the boat back to Pittsburg around the beginning of June to fish for sturgeon and stripers. If the stripers show up in the surf and ocean and the albacore show up we will move to Richmond to do this fishing. I feel at this time there are just too many boats targeting halibut and without the live bait it makes this difficult. Last summer we stayed in the delta all summer and found some good sturgeon and striper fishing. So, hopefully this will happen again this year. We will report on Saturday on the shark and striper fishing.
Date: Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 15:06:34
Current Report: Today again was as good as can get. I had some frends from Alaska who owm Casa the Kingout and we hit stripers on Yo-zuri an P Line Predators in all collors. We keep fish to 8 pounds an home buy 11 am. Wendsy we have 6 people so I think might takew longer. Good news the river is clearing up an we did get two fish in the Old sac. Date: Sunday, May 10, 2009 at 17:15:20
Current Report: You got to love Mother Day not many boats and lots of stripers. We staeted at 6 am and at 6:12 we put the first striper in the box. That fish and 5 more came on the ranbow Yo-zur. We kept four of of the six and started palying with the new P Line deep diver, we got four more on four difernt colors. We now had limits for three or six stripers {if any web suite want to know} to 7 pounds. We did look around and my people said let go home its Mother Day so we did. Back out on tusday.
Date: Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 15:34:49
Current Report: It is too bad we have to talk about this , because it was done to make our fishing reports look like we don't tell the truth. There is a bay area web site that really does not check out there reporting or the people they report about. Yesterday, they posted a fishing report from Jack Kelly at Vieira's bait shop. The report was know were close to what Jack told them and went on to discredit our honesty in reporting our catches. Sorry to have to put this in our report but after 35 years of sportfishing I will not let a web site get away with untrue reporting. Today, we fished the deep water channel and caught stripers on many different lures and colors. Back out tomorrow to find those Mother's Day stripers.
Date: Friday, May 8, 2009 at 17:41:36
Current Report: We have been out the last two days and caught some big stripers. Yesterday was slow but we did boat a 20 pound spawned out striper. The water is runnning very dirty in the old Sacramento River from Isleton to the city of Scaramento. Below Rio Vista the water is a little clearer which makes for better trolling water. Today, we left the dock early and had fish in the boat before 6:30am. A sea lion got one of our bigger fish which probably went 12 to 15 pounds. We ended with our smallest striper at 7 pounds. As the tides slow down and water clears it should be some good trolling. We are working for the stripers but there are some good ones in the system. We will be out through the weekend. We still have some openings on quite a few of the days this month. If you want to get out for this trolling action just give us a call.
Date: Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 18:35:28
Current Report: Fishing a little slow today. The water was dirty on the big outgo tide then clean up on the income. Lots of junk om the water we will change our atack in the moring. We cough fish on the dairy and the mouth of the o;d sac river. Hopeing thing might change,
Date: Sunday, May 3, 2009 at 15:11:53
Current Report: We were out this weekend catching quite a few stripers on the troll. There are a lot of smaller male fish in the system again but today a few new females in the 8 to 10 pound class showed up again. The cooler weather has slowed the warming of the water which should extend the spawn of the stripers on the river. There are still stripers in the Suisun Bay which will hopefully be coming up river. The weather did not seem to effect the fishing in the river. We have some room on a couple of the days next week. Trolling for the spawning stripers will be what we are doing agian this next week. We do have room on a couple of the days, this next week. Just give us a call if you are interested.
Date: Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 16:13:32
Current Report: We started out the day with three stripers in the boat right off the bat in two passes. It shut down and we took a ride up the river. It took a couple of hours before we put another fish in the box. We had three young boys 6 years old, 7 years old and 9 years old. They ended up catching their limits. We kept 6 stripers from 7 to 15 pounds. The 15 pounder was a spawned out female. The rest of the fish had not spawned yet. We have stripers in the system that are headed to spawn and some that are already on their way back down the river after their spawn. This action should continue through May. There have been some very windy areas and some parts of the river that are very protected from the wind. We will be out again tomorrow. We have some room on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Just call if you can get aboard.
Date: Monday, April 27, 2009 at 17:30:12
Current Report: Sorry for trhe late repor on the last three days. We had a fue bigger stripers and some new fish but with the big tide it has been getting latter for that slack tide which we working on. When you have bid mince tides the water get going to fast and with the wind make it dirty. This week we hasve more time on the in come tide in the moring and thing will pick up again. We had some real good fishermen out and when we have six people trolling make Jeff job much better. I know he thank you, We will be back at it tus. and will let you know. We did fish mostly shalow and the red head was the hot color, We did have two 16 pounder which are the bigest so far this spring.
Date: Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 08:14:17
Current Report: The Fish 'n' Fool IV was out yesterday with six anglers. The trolling was a little bit slower than it has been but they kept seven fish to twelve pounds. The turn of the tide has been the best opportunity for quick catches. There are some big stripers starting to be caught. This is the time of the year when there are big stripers and small stripers in the system. Some of the fish are on their way up river to spawn and some are going to spawn where they are. This good trolling should continue through May. The boat is out with another full load today. We will try and keep you up to date with what we are doing.
Date: Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 18:36:49
Current Report: Dont let that weather report stop you from some great striper fishing. The weateher man need to come fishing in the great delta water with it high leavee and some new fish in the Sac. River. Today we had three out and had limits to 16 pounds with out wind problem. Cough them both shalloiw and deep on red and white and clown. We will be out the next three day with 6 each day so we will try to report each day.
Date: Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 12:34:48
Current Report: Yesterday, in the nice hot weather we caught our limit of stripers. The smallest one that we kept was 7 pounds. When we found the fish the trolling was fast. We got away from most of the boats and had the best luck catching fish. The larger stripers seem to be moving up the river. This is the time to get on the river. We'll be out again tomorrow.
Date: Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at 10:59:17
Current Report: The spring run has brought a lot of strpers to the delta system but not too many big fish have shown up yet. Yesterday, a few stripers in the teens were caught. Hopefully, this is the sign that the bigger female fish are on the way. Trolling continues to be the most productive method of catching the stripers headed up river. The warm weather has brought lots of trollers to the Sacramento River. There are a few areas that get quite crowded with boats. There seems to be fish in all sorts of areas so we don't fight the crowds. This spring run should continue to produce some good trolling for at least another month. The month of May should be good for bigger fish. We still have some open days for May. Just give us a call.
Date: Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 15:41:01
Current Report: The spring run is stating to get going better and better ever day. The last two day have been good fishing in the moring for us. Sone boats are gettig striper all day long. We have had a lot of wind but as you we can hide in the Delta and get luckly and have the fish in the spots with less wind. We are booked ever day but we do have some open lods with room. I think we will be fishing stripers till the end of May.
Date: Monday, April 13, 2009 at 10:55:31
Current Report: The full moon and big tides and wind on and off really slowed the fishing action this last week. We caught some stripers on the troll but there was not a lot of size to any of the fish. Easter Sunday we left early and by 8:30 am on incoming tide we limited out with the largest two fish weighing 11 and 12 pounds. This week if the winds stay down should be a good week for trolling. Yesterdays, fish were all taken trolling shallow running Yo-zuri lures. This next week if the winds stay down should be a good week for trolling. The smaller tides keep the water cleaner. We will be out each day and will try to report how the catching is going.
Date: Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 11:14:01
Current Report: We caught 22 stripers, yesterday, trolling the Sacramento River. The largest we kept was just over 9 punds and the other six fish weighed between 4 to 7 pounds. We were trolling Bombers and Yo-zuri lures. Some of the action was on shallow running lures and the rest was on the deep divers in deeper water. The chartreuse color has been the most consistent lure color the last couple of days. The water is clear and is warming as the days get longer. The Fish 'n' Fool IV is out again today and will report the results later. The spring weather keeps everyone guessing if it will be windy, warm, cold, or calm. This the theme for the springtime. Each day changes and the stripers seem to react to the changes at times.
Date: Friday, April 3, 2009 at 08:49:56
Current Report: It is definately spring time fishing. You never know each day what weather you will get. Yesterday, the Fish 'n' Fool IV was out trolling on a very breezy day. The conditions made the trolling a little more difficult than the day before. They ended the day hooking 7 keeper stripers and 1 shaker. Known of the stripers were over 7 pounds. The same 5 anglers are out trolling again today and by 8:30 am on a calm morning, so far, they have boated 10 stripers to 9 pounds. The afternoon is suppose to get windy again. It is the incoming tide and the stripers are taking the shallow running Bombers and Yo-Zuri lures. The stripers have hit a variety of colors this morning. Today, the stripers and weather are cooperating to make for a good day before the weather front brings the wind. The wind is suppose to subside again for Saturday. The Fish 'n' Fool IV will be out trolling the river for the stripers. We still have room on Sunday for anyone who wants to get in on some of this fishing. Just give us a call 916-777-6498.
Date: Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at 16:18:52
Current Report: Today, we began our spring striper trolling. It was a very successful day. We caught 15 stripers from 4 to 8 pounds. There were no big fish but good action. Shallow running Yo-zuri Lures were the baits that attracted the stripers. There were five different colors lures that caught the fish and the best time was the end of the incoming tide. The morning was a little easier fishing while the wind was down but we did pick up 4 fish in the afternoon. We will be out again tomorrow to keep on the stripers. Now is the time to book for the spring run of stripers that has begun on the Sacramento River.
Date: Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 09:47:04
Current Report: We ended our sturgeon fishing in the Pittsburg area with a pretty good flurry of good sturgeon action. Last Saturday at the beginning of the outgoing tide in Montezuma Slough, we had an hour of steady action. We hooked up three sturgeon and one was over size and the rest of the action was on shakers sturgeon. Then Sunday in the same area we landed a 6 and one half to 7 foot sturgeon which we released at the boat and some other action until the north wind came up. The wind was the problem the rest of the day. We have now moved the boat up to Vieira's Resort for the spring trolling season. It looks like another real good spring season for stripers. We'll also do some sturgeon fishing up in Cache Slough and the Sacramento River. We ae happy to be back on the striper prowl. If you want to get out this spring, just give us a call.
Date: Friday, March 20, 2009 at 08:12:53
Current Report: What can we say? Last saterday the CSBA of Isleton had a target sturgeon derby and you all know what the wind dose for derby this year. The wind was about 25 most of the day some times more. We hid most of the day for no luck. One fish came in for 57 people fishing. This week started off slow but yesterday pick up for us. We fish in 28 feet of water for One keeper and five under size to 44inches, The bait of choce was Salmon Row and grass shrimp and our Brime Ghost Shrimp was hot. We have 5 days lelft sturgeon fishinf then will move up the river to fish striper trolling. Give us a call to book a trip trolling last year it was off the wall fishing. Sorry for the long time in beteen reports but lots of thing happen.
Date: Monday, March 16, 2009 at 10:17:27
Current Report: We did fish sturgeon last week but the catching was slow. There are lots of sturgeon marking on the fish finder but they have not been in the eating mode. The big tides and full moon did not help the fishing conditions. On Saturday, we fished the CSBA Isleton chapter sturgeon derby. The weather was horrible. It blew hard all over the delta. Out of 56 anglers there was one sturgeon caught. It measured 48 inches and took the top prize. The water is beginning to clear and warm up and we are looking forward to some striper fishing. It is getting close to trolling for the stripers again. We will be out for sturgeon tomorrow. The weather looks good and the tides are slower. We are confident that we can get some fish if the conditions remain.
Date: Monday, March 9, 2009 at 17:10:49
Current Report: Sorry its been a week but we were out the last five days. Not to much to report, some days lots of action but only a couple hook ups. One over and one under. Fish all the back water that a 100 gal. of gas would let me. We mark fish all over but we need a fish finder that tell us which ones are eating. Diana and I were at Bass Pro last nite talking about Sturgeon fishing and brining bate. We will be there all day on Sunday the 15th if you are around drop by. I will be out till sunday and hoping the nice weathwer will help. See you out there.
Date: Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 19:56:22
Current Report: Today, we had all kinds of different weather. It started out raining and windy then some sun and calm weather. The sturgeon fishing was fair considering the weather. We got one 44 inch sturgeon to the boat to release. We had a lot of action on the baits of ghost shrimp and eel. With all the rain the water is getting much dirtier. The sturgeon are jumping at times and seem to be moving around looking for some bait. All this fresh water should make the sturgeon fishing continue to be good. We will be out Thursday through the weekend. There is room aboard on a couple of the days.
Date: Friday, February 27, 2009 at 09:36:57
Current Report: The weather continues to be in the fishermans favor. Yesterday, we had our friend, Bill Ryan and his friends from the Napa Valley. The mighty sturgeon is what we were pursuing. The morning started out slow with the outgoing tide. On the beginning of the incoming tide we caught one small striper on ghost shrimp that we released. As the tide picked up Laura's rod got a hit and she set the hook and the fight was on. While she was fighting her sturgeon Bill's rod started bobbing. He set the hook and we had two sturgeon on at the same time. Luckily, the fish cooperated. Bill was able to control his sturgeon. We netted it and measured it and it was 42 inches and we released it. All the while Laura was still fighting her sturgeon which we were sure was much bigger than Bill's. The sturgeon finally ave up the fight and came up to the service. At first we thought is might be above the maximum size of 66 inches. We were able to get is along side the boat and give a quick measurement and found it to be a keeper. We snared it and brought it in the boat. It measured 65 and 3/4 inches. It was a beautiful big fish. We did not boat any more keeper sturgeon. Laura had lots of sturgeon to take and share with her friends. The baits that the sturgeon are attacking are shad, ghost shrimp, pile worms and eel. Our large fish came on a eel, ghost shrimp combo and the small sturgeon took a shad. This just indicates that the sturgeon do not seem to be real picky about the bait presentation at this time. We will be out again tomorrow for some good sturgeon action. If you would like to get aboard do not hesitate to call. There is still room this Saturday for some sturgeon fishing.

Current Report: Today was a good sturgeon fishing day. We had a group of four anglers out and the weather was perfect. We presented the diamondsides with eel and ghost shrimp. Both the baits got good action. The first sturgeon we boated was a 47 inch keeper that took the eel. Then as the tide was still running we got a hold of a big sturgeon. We had to pull anchor and go with the fish till it got warn out. Hitomi Richmond from Japan did a marvelous job of playing this sturgeon for about 40 minutes. We got it to the boat and took some pictures. It was over 7 feet long. The rest of the action did not produce any more keepers. We were fishing in 28 feet or water. We will be out again tomorrow chasing the sturgeon.
Hopefullly, great action will continue.

Current Report: Yesterday, we were out fishing for a half day. Cal Kellog from the Fish Sniffer was aboard and we were putting together an article that will come out in the paper about brining bait with Pro-Cure Products. We had our rods out with eel, shad and brined shrimp. Cal hooked up on a good fighting sturgeon that measured 57 inches. There was quite a bit of action but this was the only sturgeon that we boated. We were fishing in Montezuma Slough in 28 feet of water. The water coming down the river is really starting to get some color now with all the rain the last few days. This could slow the striper action for a bit but I'm sure that some stripers will be picked up on bait. The trolling for stripers will be very difficult with the water conditions. This change to a winter pattern in the weather should only make fishing better in the rivers as it clears. We will be out again on Friday and Saturday and looking forward to good action.
Date: Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at 16:07:44
Current Report: Well what can we say? We asked for rain and rain we got. This is what we need to turn a slow Sturgeon season to maybe a great season. The rivers are now turning muddy and the flow should turn the sturgeon on and make them move were they should be. I think some sturgeon will move to San Pablo Bay and the ones that will be spawning this year will move up the river. We should see fishing turn on all over. For those looking for stripers might have to put trolling on hold for a while. The bait fishermen might look for the water that is changing from muddy to clean. I hope this might help. We will be back on the water Wednesday for some sturgeon fishing. Good Luck!!
Date: Monday, February 9, 2009 at 17:30:41
Current Report: Our day today had started out lots of wind but we were able to find some good water for sturgeon fishing. We fished the end of the out go tide with not to much happening. I moved the boat about a mile away and found some fish on the fish finder. The incoming tide was just about ready to start and we were ready with baits in the water. Chris' rod went down on the balancer nd we yelled to hit it. After giving 2 or 3 times good hook sets the rod could not come up any more and the line was ripping off the reel with a big fish. I had to raise the anchor and the fight was on. As we moved with the tide I worked the fish to the bank in water that was less then ten feet deep, then the sturgeon came up and I'm sure Chris thought we needed a bigger boat. He did a great job and we were able to get some pphotos and try our best to measure the monster. We had it against the side of the boat and best we could see it was close to 8 feet. We removed the hook and watched her swim off. Good job, Chris. We did get a 8lb striper and a flounder. No keeper sturgeon today but lots of good bites and action.
Date: Sunday, February 8, 2009 at 16:20:46
Current Report: Just got off the water and I was hoping for a little better report. Saturday, after the rain I was really hoping for a great day of sturgeon fishing. It was a great day but the fish did not want to eat. Sunday, we started off by running up to the Antioch Bridge and marked some sturgeon. The out-go tide had two hours left so we set up our five rods. As we threw the fourth rod out we had a sturgeon hammered the bait and took off with the rod pinned in the balancer. One of the customers set the hook but the sturgeon was pulling the line out so fast he couldn't set it again. The sturgeon was off to the Golden Gate and we did as much as we could but there was no stopping this sturgeon. After stripping out about two hundred yards of line he came unbuttoned. We think this fish was way to big but it was a fun wake call on an early Sunday morning. The rest of the day we fought the wind and big incoming tide. When the tide slowed down the bite started up again. We set the hook again and this time we got this sturgeon to the boat. It was a 50 inch keeper. This made our day and Big Joe Gatz had a great birthday. We will be out Mondday and Wednesday so will let you know what happens.
Date: Monday, February 2, 2009 at 12:01:08
Current Report: The fishing has been a bit slower this last week. We caught a nice striper and a couple of small ones on Saturday but could not entice a sturgeon to commit to the bait we had out. Threadfin shad has been a good bait for both the stripers and the sturgeon. Saturday, was a busy day on the water with sturgeon fisherman fishing a derby. There were quite a few sturgeon taken but not all fisherman got fish. The water temperature is staying around 50 degrees and the stripers and sturgeon can be very active on certain parts of the tide. The tides are good for fishing this week. We are out again today trying to get stripers or a keeper sturgeon. The weather continues to be great we just hope for some good rain.
Date: Sunday, January 25, 2009 at 18:00:34
Current Report: First of all we had a tyto in the last report the sturgon was 59 inches not 51.Sorry guys. We fish the C&R derby saterday but no fish to weigh in but we had a great time. This derby is one of the best run derby a Steve of Flash sportsfishing realy knows how to put it together. Maybe he will want to help me with the Rio Vista Derby? We were not abely to fish the waters we had been fishing so we check out Suisun Slough for a little action and ended in The Big Cut. We will be back Tusday in my favard spot and hope they are still there. We will be still be fishing bouth Stripers and Sturgon combo so call we have lots of room on the week day.
Date: Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 15:09:40
Current Report: Went to work today with the rain coming down. This is what we have needed. The outside temperature was real nice and no wind. The fishing was good. We caught 4 stripers to 8 pounds and kept a 51 inch sturgeon for our six clients. The water temperature is staying right around 49 to 50 degrees. We also released a 41 inch sturgeon. The bait of the day was threadfin shad. There were other boats in the area and they also had success hooking up with both sturgeon and striped bass. This rain is what the delta has needed. Hopefully, this nice soft rain will continue on and off for a while. The system and the fish should continue to flourish if it does.
Date: Monday, January 19, 2009 at 17:44:22
Current Report: Well after a slow Sunday, Monday was good. The stripers are coming alive. We caught stripers today to 20 pounds. Shad is still the number one bait for my customers. Fishig in about 20 feet has been working the best. Today we had a six year old out and caught 2 stripers one 4 pounder and one 10 pounder. He would play with his rod and all of a sudden you would look at his rod and a striper would take off. The day was nice with a little wind at the beginning of the out go tide then it went down. We will let you know how the rest of the week goes.
Date: Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 17:20:10
Current Report: This week felt like spring as nice as it was but the fishing continued to be slow until today. The water has warmed to 50 degrees. We covered lots of water and only got flounder and small stripers till Saturday. Today, we landed some nice stripers on shad in the morning at the start of the out going tide. Then at the last hour of the tide we nailed a 57 inch sturgeon on shad also. That made a great day and I hope it keeps going. We will be out the next two days and I will let you know how the bite goes.
Date: Sunday, January 11, 2009 at 18:58:49
Current Report: This last week brought in some nice weather still cold but nice to see the sun. The water temperature is holding around 47 and some of the stripers are getting more aggressive. The sturgeon are still slow on the bite. The sturgeon fsihing s picking up alittle but a good rain would sure help. The warmer days are helping the bite and getting out of these big tides will also help. We did get stripers on all our trips this last week but only one sturgeon. Maybe this week the sturgeon action will break loose in our area.
Date: Thursday, January 1, 2009 at 13:00:14
Current Report: Well, another year and I can only hope that 2009 striper fishing will be as great as the last two years were. With 50 years of striper fishing, the last two years rate as some of the best. It has been both great trolling and bait fishing. Our biggest striper of the year was on April 27 weighing 40 pounds which we released. We trolled all summer having good days and a few slow days but afer all it was summer in the delta. We started out bait fishing in Oct. by one of our clients winning the Rio Vista Bass Derby and it just got better as the month progressed. As the winter came it slowed a little but we are still having great striper fishing. The sturgeon has been slower the last two years because the river is not getting enough fresh water down it. Hopefully, this winter will change all of that. We did end the year pretty well. The last three trips we have not had any stripers under 8 pounds. This is not the time of the year that we got over limits of fish but we can only be thankful for the quality of the stipers. Diana and I wish you a Great New Year and thank for all the fun we had taking you out.
Date: Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 17:41:32
Current Report: Great day . It was one of those good days. Great people and great fishing We landed stripers to 15 pounds with the small one going 8 pounds by the way the bigest fish going to the retird chif of the SF fire department. The bite was on shad and all you had to do just pull it that whar 6 year old Steve said over and over again. Lots of fun when the young kids tell us what to do. Thank for the day Jiff and I had lots of fun. Back wensday then off for New Year day.
Date: Sunday, December 28, 2008 at 18:52:07
Current Report: We fished friday to sunday with not to mush going on till sunday afternoon. We fish for both sturgen and stripers, We cought flonders small stripers and finely on sundsy we scored with some stripers with some weight. I have been going as far in the back water in 10to15 feet of water. We are fishing both sturgen and stripers and if this rain come like they this weekend should be good. From Diana and myself we wish the best Hollidays and hope you get what you want.
Date: Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at 17:24:33
Current Report: COLD, COLD, COLD!!!! Today, we fished Montezuma Slough because the east wind was blowing. We hit three different spots that produced stripers. The boat was in the tules due to the wind. The stripers took both live and cut bullheads aggressively. It was a typical bite on the shad. We fished the shad locked down and waited till the rod lowered with the fish not running. This is the season that the balancing is most important. Put on a Fish Hooker Balancer and you will be able to see the lightest bite of the fish. The water temperature we fished today ran from 50 degrees in the deeper water to 45 degrees in the shallow water. See you on the water when I thaw. The heater is on the boat and running all day in this cold weather.
Date: Friday, December 12, 2008 at 18:40:06
Current Report: The winter bite is hear and has slow thing down a little. We have been all over with between Row and Ryer looking the best for stripers and even yesterday a keeper sturgen cough on shad. The bit has been half and half for shad and bullheads. The ater depth has been 7 to 35 feet depending on the movement of the water. Today was the bigest tide of the year which some like but I don"t like to fast of water for my light tackel. Hope we will get some rain in the next three day but you never know. We will be booking sturgen trips and some both striper and sturgen trips. Let you know wath happen after the week end.
Date: Sunday, December 7, 2008 at 17:58:36
Current Report: In one week we went from fall to winter. The water temp in know 55 and going lower. The bite has change to what we call the winter bite. We had a good day today but if we didn"t fish the striper winter we would have losst most of our fish. What i am talking about given the line with bullheads and lock down with shad.We fished in 23 feet of water at the mouth of Montezuma at Grizzly Bay with water temp at 54 and over cast and a east wind.(COLD) Fish went from 5 to 10 pounds. We will be off for tree day to warm up and doctors apointment. Go luck out there a stay warm. We do have lots of room till the end of the year.
Date: Friday, December 5, 2008 at 17:18:03
Current Report: Boy how cold was it? Dam cold with the fog and the east wind. It was almost impossible to come out of the cabin to fish. Mark Wilson called me and said that there was no wind and the sun was out where he was. So, we were on are way 2 minutes later. The fishing was good with fish to nine pounds. The bait was live bullheads and shad. Today we fish in five feet of water. The tides are starting to get better and the stripers are starting to school so if can find them you should do ok. We will see how it gose Saterday.
Date: Sunday, November 30, 2008 at 18:02:51
Current Report: Well the fog came in which brought the east wind with it. This make the day cold and hard to fish the income at the deep water at Pittsburg. The tides are real week now but we did get fish to fourteen pounds on Sat. Then Sunday we fish in Montezuma and did well with stripers to ten pounds. We will be off for two days the back trough the week end. The is starting to cool off a little know is 57 so do think will pick up again. Bait both bullheads and shad are easy to come by now so I think we will be in stripers through the end of the year.
Date: Friday, November 28, 2008 at 16:58:31
Current Report: Good striper fishing today even with all the boats ther was not to many problen for us. The fish were diferent today smaller and wanted shad more then cut bullheads go figure. Be out the rest of the weekend so we will see what happen. We were at Pittsburg in 35feet of water today.

We fished in 23ft of water on the income under clear sky and flat water what a difernt a day make. Striper were 7lb to 12lbs. Hope all will be the same for the next two days.
Date: Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 18:52:06
Current Report: The last three days have been a little slow for stripers. We cought fish on bait with 50/50 shad and bullheads. The best around would be Seal Island but not today with thirty knots of north wind on a income tide not fun with six people. Chain Island has also been good with both stripers and sturgon be9ng thaken on shad. Will be out all week so I will let you know whats going on.
Date: Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 17:20:27
Current Report: The striper slow down a little with the fronts going through the last two days. I sure they will be back on the bite Friday and the week end. The shad has been the best bait but don't go with out bullheads these stripers can turn any time. We have had lots of wind with the fronts going through but that all over now and some say that Thank Given week being the best striper fishing of the fall run,
Date: Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 17:28:10

Our shad is brine and we have been flapping the shad and dyeing the heads with Pro-Cure BAD AZZ BAIT DYE in Chartreuse/Lime. The striper have been running good. Today we did not get any on bullheads. Date: Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at 15:58:36
Current Report: Today was another good day of striper fishing. For some reason most of the stripers wanted bullheads to eat. The cut bullhead was the best presentation. The fish just really picked up the bullheads and ran right off the clicker. The stripers picked up the threadfin shad but did not run with the bait. Our four anglers kept 7 stripers from 7 to 12 pounds. We fished in 14 feet of water on the incoming tide. All the stripers we caught today were nice quality. This good striper fishing should continue through December.
Date: Sunday, November 9, 2008 at 07:16:17
Current Report: The week was a good week till the week end shows up. We had a great week warm and no wind but Saturday here comes the wind. To bad we can"t get some more rain out of the wind. Striper fishing slow a little on saturday for us but as the boats leve and comer winds I am sure it will pick back up. We are off today but will be back at it Monday. We do have some opening coming up so if you been wanting to striper fishing give us a call.
Date: Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 14:05:17
Current Report: Todays striper fishing could not get any better. The Fish 'n' Fool IV had a group of fisve anglers out and they caught and released stripers on both the incoming tide and the outgoing tide. They kept seven stripers from 8 to 18 pounds. The best depth of water was 12 feet. We were using threadfin shad and bullheads for bait. The cut bullheads produced the catching of the larger fish while the shad kept rods busy with smaller fish. The weather was perfect, calm, some sun, some clouds and comfortable temperature. This has started out as a good fishing week. This action should continue to be good as the water continues to cool. This is the month that you want to book a trip if you love to bait fish. Give us a call soon the month is filling quickly.
Date: Monday, November 3, 2008 at 15:54:35
Current Report: The day started out with rain but that did not stop the stripers from biting. The end of the in come tide was great with stripers to fourteen pounds takin cut bullheads and shad, Ended the day at noon under sun shine. Back out on Wednesday hope it stays good.
Date: Sunday, November 2, 2008 at 18:27:53
Current Report: This Sunday was a much nicer day than yesterday. Saturday with the slow tides and the wind we were running most of the day. Today, we had a double hook up, one striper on a live bullhead and the other one on a cut bullhead. The rest of the stripers we caught were on threadfin shad. We will be out again tomorrow to find some more good stripers. This good rain should help the fishing as it starts settling and clearing again.
Date: Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 15:21:28
Current Report: Diana has been runing the boat this last we but hopefuly I might be back this week end. The fish has been good with bait the best, the cut bull heads would be the best in all of the west delta in water from 5 to 35 feet of water. Rember the deeper water the tide move fast so the start and end will be the best. So I hope to bee out Sat. With Jeff doing most of the I just get to drive but better then this laying around. See you on the water and maybe in the rain.
Date: Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at 17:14:15
Current Report: What a beautiful day it was today and the stripers cooperated, also. The wind went down and we fished Decker Island with shad. We had a lot of action on the incoming tide. The stripers were very aggressive. We had three double hook ups and kept fish to 11 pounds. It was just a lot of fun fishing without big wind. We will be back out on Sunday.
Date: Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 17:34:01
Current Report: We have been fishing the last three days. Sunday, the group aboard the Fish 'n' Fool IV had a good day fishing with shad and bullheads. The best bait was the cut bullheads. The stripers weighed up to 8 pounds. Monday, we started a three day charter with a father, who is blind and his son. They wanted to fish the upper Sacramento River, so we have been working out of Vieira's Resort. This first day we were checking out different spots and found them all to be full of grass. Between the wind and the grass it was a very slow day. Today, we headed down river and fished Decker Island and found that there was not the grass problem and the stripers were very aggressive on the shad. We kept stripers to 11 pounds. We'll be back out tomorrow to find the active stripers. Diana will be running the trips for the next week while I am off having surgery. I should be back in a couple of weeks.
Date: Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 18:32:04
Current Report: Saturday was another good day with a little wind. The tides were slow so we fished in ten to twenty feet of water to get more movement. The fish wanted cut bullheads today and we did get a couple on shad. There was a lot of boats again today but we went and found our own water again and it paid off. We had stripers to 12 pounds and down to 7 pounds. Back out Sunday to try again.
Date: Friday, October 17, 2008 at 19:05:35
Current Report: Today, we fished in Montezuma Slough for limits of striper from 7 to 10 pounds. The fish bits on mostly on bullheads today but don’t go without shad. We fished in less the ten feet of water on both tides. There was a lot of boat traffic I would suggest using your fish finder and find your own fish and stay away from the crowds. Good Luck.
Date: Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 15:47:11
Current Report: The last two days have been different for we fished the main water both shallow and deep. We caught in both with bullheads the best bait. Most the fish were in the ten pound class. We fish shallow at the fast part of the tide and deep when the water slow down. Back at it for the next 6 days and things are getting in full fall run mode.
Date: Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at 04:41:59

The bait has beem shad and bull heads. I am treating my bait with Pro-Cure BRINE & BITE and BAD AZZ BAIT Color BLast in Chartreuse on the head of the shad and Threadin Shad Super Gel on the rest of the bait. This has been working the best the last three trips. This what we useed to get the wining fish for the Rio Vista Derby. Call if you want to know about Brine & Bite and how to ue it. We do hav a new DVD out with Pro-Cure called SECRETS OF THE PRO!S which shows you what we are doing and how to preper your shad. Back on the water today we are going to Honker Bay and Middle Grownz today.
Date: Monday, October 13, 2008 at 20:52:17
Current Report: Today started out beautiful. No wind and the fish were biting. We fished with shad and bullheads on the end of the outgoing tide and caugth one 8 pound striperon a shad and one eight pound striper on a bullhead and threw back a couple of smaller stripers. As the tide ended the wind came up. We moved up the slough and found a calmer area and had a 12 pound striper run hard with shad bait. The stripers were running with the baits right off the clicker. The incoming tide was a little slower than the outgoing but we had quite a bit of action. We will be out again tomorrow prowling the area for the stripers. The weather is suppose to stay calmer which will make the fishing much easier. We'll report the results tomorrow.
Date: Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 18:56:28
Current Report: Well, the windy weekend is over. Our customer, Eileen Brown, took home the first prize of $2000 for the striper division of the Rio Vista Bass Derby. The striper measured 32 inches exactly and weighed in at 13.10 pounds. Today, we soaked some shad and caught stripers from six to nine pounds. The day fishing started out real slow but on the turn of the tide we started catching the stripers. The water is cooling down nicely now that the days are getting shorter and weather is cooling at night. This has been a great start to the fall run of stripers. This fishing should get better as the days get shorter. A lot of the weekends and quite a few of the weekdays are getting booked. So if you want to get in on some of this fall striper fishing just give us a call.
Date: Friday, October 10, 2008 at 17:05:02
Current Report: The Rio Vista Bass Derby and Festival started today at 6am. The slot limit for striper is 32 inches, measured from the tip of the nose to the tip of the tail. The sturgeon slot is 51 and three quarter inches. The Fish 'n' Fool IV went to Montezuma Slough and tucked into the tules because of the wind. Eileen Brown had a striper pick up shad and run. When we got it in the boat we measured it and it measured 32 inches and on our scale it was just under 14 pounds. We finished the day and Eileen took her fish to the weigh in booth in Rio Vista. It is the leading striper division, now. It measured 32 inches and weighed 13 pounds 10 ounces. The second fish is 32 inches and 10 pounds. Hopefully, Eileen's striper will hold till the end. We will be back out tomorrow to see what we can do. Hopefully, this wind calms down some. There are quite a few stripers being caught. The sturgeon fishing with the wind has been a bit slower. We'll give you an update tomorrow as more fish start coming into the weigh station.
Date: Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at 14:43:03
Current Report: We had a good day yesterday trolling deep divers with red head the best.We worked both tide and mark more fish then we have seen lately. We fish it 12 to 14 feet all over Monty. Date: Monday, October 6, 2008 at 09:05:31
Current Report: We were hoping for some rain like all the TV channels forcasted but as usual they were wrong. We bait fished for stripers Sunday morning with lots of action but all small fish, all on shad. The tides were so small we trolled the rest of the day. We had a little action and at the end of the day we caught about a 30 pound salmon in Broad Slough on a black & silver Yo-zuri. This is the first salmon of the year which is hard to believe for all the trolling we are doing. We will be out fishing on Tuesday and will be fishing the three days of the Rio Vista Bass Derby. There is still time to get your Bass Derby tickets and have a chance at the prizes. Most anyone has a chance at winning this derby. The size will be drawn at 5:00am Friday am so you know what the size to weigh in will be. Remember, your derby ticket also gets you a chance at a 16ft. Crestliner boat with a 40hp Honda Outboard and Lowrance GPS/Sonar unit and Four balancers. The weather looks good for a great event. There will be a sturgeon slot limit and separate prizes fro that diversion. Contact the Rio Vista Chamber of Commerce for all the details. See you out this coming weekend and good luck.

Current Report: Today, we had a trolling striper fishing trip. The fishing was good. We started on the old Dairy and caught 4 stripers in shallow water. We moved across the river and fished the west bank and caught fish. We trolled both shallow and deep running Yo-zuri lures. The dark colors were definately the hottest lures. Our customers took limits of stripers from 4 to 8 pounds. There were areas that we had doule and triple hook ups. The action was spotty. The early morning was fast and then a lull and then as the tide changed the action got fast and furious again. This weekend we will probably concentrate on bait fishing for the stripers. Hopefullly, the rain which is predicted will help the action.
Date: Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at 16:55:49
Current Report: The weather was perfect and the bait fishing for the stripers was perfect, too. We started the day at the end of the incoming tide. Shad and bullheads were the baits we were using. The depths that we found most of the stripers in was 12 to 15 feet. The first striper in the boat came shortly after tossing out the shad and bullhead. The bite continued all day through the outgoing tide. All the stripers were very aggressive at taking the bait. The stripers got bigger on the outgoing tide. We ended up with four limits of stripers from 5 to 12 pounds. Every stop produced action for stripers. This action should continue and get better with the cooler water and some rain. This is the time of the year that can be full of good action for stripers. We will be out tomorrow doing some trolling and looking for some good action there. If you want to get in on some of this striper fishing call early. We are filling in a lot of dates.

Current Report: I want to thank everyone who came to the seminar at Hap's Bait shop yesterday. It was a great day. The information that everyone received from Mark Wilson, Clyde Wands and myself went well. Most of the folks that attended enjoyed a fish and chip lunch which the CSBA Isleton Chapter prepared. I didn't hear any complaits about the food. The very warm afternoon was the only complaining that we heard. I fished sturgeon a couple of days prior to the seminar and it was slow. The striper fishing is fair but the water has warmed again with this warmer weather. We hear that the weather is suppose to cool down this week and that there may even be a little rain. Rain would really help the fishing. But with the tides and cooler weather the fishing should get better. We will try bait fishing in this next week. The weekends are filling in with trips, so, if you would like to do some of this delta fishing call early to book your trip. This should be a good fall season.
Date: Friday, September 19, 2008 at 10:34:24

Date: Friday, September 12, 2008 at 18:20:22
Current Report: Today was amother breezy day. The striper fishing started out a little slow but it ended OK. We fished Broad Slough and surrounding sloughs. The biggest striper was eleven pounds and the others were just 4 and 5 pounds. We trolled all deep diving Yo-zuri's in red and white and chartreuse. Ten to eleven feet of water is where we hit most of the fish. The stripers are still moving around. You go through areas of no fish and then find nice pockets of stripers. It is looking like this will be a real good fall season. We have availabilty for a couple of people each day of the weekend. Now is the time to start pursuing the stripers. Just give us a call if you'd like to come aboard.
Date: Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 16:30:02
Current Report: We had a fast day today. Two hour and we were on are way home with limets of stripers from 6 to 8 lbs. We found a school of fish just out side Pittsburg and got them on deep diver. Was fast action on the change of tide. Back at them again friday hope they there again.
Date: Sunday, September 7, 2008 at 17:49:14
Current Report: We had a two day charter this weekend. The fishing was slower the it been but we got fish in spots we had not been fishing. Saterday we got fish in Minor Slough and today in Horseshoe behind Decker. It has been very hot and no wind. I think the needs to cool off for the striper fishing to pick up. Lots of room this week.
Date: Friday, September 5, 2008 at 16:26:15
Current Report: Can you believe no wind since Sunday? We trolled Rio Vista today. Because of the Pittsburg Sea Food Festival we had to move the boat to Isleton for a few days. The trolling was good catching stripers to 12 pounds. We were pulling Yo-zuri shallow runners in chartreuse. We came around at 1:30pm for it was just plain HOT. After a whole summer of wind it was great.
Date: Sunday, August 31, 2008 at 17:30:49
Current Report: Today, Sunday we were ready for a bad day of wind because that's what Channel 3 told us WRONG . One the best days you could ask for, not to hot and very little wind. The fishing was a little slow. We tried fishing both bait and trolling and the trolling was the better with red and white lures the hot color. I would have to say that the delta is only a week or two from the the Fall run to be going full speed ahead for both bait and trolling. The trollling has been good right along but with the water conditions now it will just get better. I say this because I am seeing better water color and more fish all over. getting good bait is the only problem but should get better as the water cools off.
Date: Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 16:32:25
Current Report: When the fog come back to the bay the wind going to blow and it did. We still pick up six striper to ten pounds. All fish came on diver in ten feet ov water. The best is the change of tide when water clear up. Ouy again Sunday will let you know.
Date: Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 17:54:35
Current Report: Another great day of striper trolling. Our three anglers caught their limits of stripers from nine to 12 pounds trolling Yo-zuri deep running lures. We had a little bit of wind in the morning and the fishing started a little slow but as the day warmed up so did the fishing. We kept the twelve fish and release about eight more. This is just some fun fishing. We will be out again tomorrow. Just give us a call if you would like to get in on some of this good trolling for the stripers. We still have some room quite a few of the days.
Date: Friday, August 22, 2008 at 16:50:36
Current Report: Is it really August??? The stripers are stacking up like it's the beginning of spring. Today, we trolled for stripers in the sloughs and caught easy limits plus released at least 20 fish. The fishing and catching was fast and furious today. The size of the stripers averaged between 8 and 9 pounds. Our three anglers kept their limits of fish from 6 to 13 pounds. The chartreuse deep diving Yo-zuri was the best lure. The weather got quite warm in the afternoon so we called it a day by 1:30pm. We'll be out again tomorrow. We have some room each day if you are interested in catching some of these great fighting stripers.
Date: Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 14:11:02
Current Report: The wind is a little bit lighter today and the striper fishing is good. The Fish 'n' Fool IV has a small group out trolling in Montezuma Slough. The Yo-zuri deep runner in chartreuse has been the best lure. They have kept stripers to 7 pounds and are fishing for some bigger ones. The delta fishing is getting better everyday that the weather cooperates. We have room this weekend if you are interested in catching some of the stripers. Just give us call.We are planning some albacore fishing from the bay if they ever come in closer. Right now, the albacore are out about 120 miles from the Golden Gate. That, of course, is just too far. If the warmer water and the fish move in then we will plan some albacore fishing. Just keep checking this report and we will let you know if and when we plan to go. The ocean has not been too friendly to the fishermen this year out the Golden Gate. Hopefully the albacore will cooperate. We will continue fishing stripers and sturgeon in the delta until and if the albacore happen.
Date: Monday, August 18, 2008 at 10:07:59
Current Report: We trolled the delta on this last windy Saturday for striped bass. The wind made the water dirty on the end of the outgoing tide which is always challenging when trolling lures. A couple of small keeper stripers hit at Broad Slough then we moved to Montezuma Slough where it was a little easier trolling. In Montezuma Slough we hooked up a couple more stripers that were also small. As the tide began to come in we decided to go back out on the river for the tide figuring that the wind and tide would be going together to make it fishable. The wind did not go down and we fished the west bank, Horseshoe Bend and marked some nice fish but did not get any of them to hit the lures. The wind got worse not better to make it a tough day of fishing. With good weather the fishing would be good. The sturgeon are around too but the weather the last few days has been too windy to fish. We're looking forward to some calmer days for some good delta fishing.
Date: Monday, August 11, 2008 at 15:05:00
Current Report: Sorry it has been a while since we posted our last fishing report. Our computer hard drive failed and the rest is hisory. We have been fishing the delta for stripers and sturgeon. The striper fishing the last couple of days has really picked up. The wind has been down and the water is clear and there are stripers in quite a few of the favorite areas. Yesterday, we trolled Montezuma slough and Broad Slough on the incoming tide and caught some small fish in Broad slough and stripers to 12 pounds in Montezuma Slough. Earlier in the week we trolled the Dairy, the sand bar above the Rio Vista Bridge on up above the Isleton Bridge and kept stripers to nine pounds. The area at the Dairy was quite rough with wind but the rest of the troll was very pleasant. August is the month that some of the big fish start making their way back to the delta. The fish can be scattered but when you find them it can be some fast fishing. We have produced stripers with both shallow running and deep diving Yo-zuri lures. We have used a mixture of colors. The sturgeon fishing has been fair with nice weather. There has been a lot of wind which makes sturgeon fishing difficult. With the calmer weather the sturgeon are being caught at the mouth of Montezuma slough, just outside of Pittsburg Harbor, and the lower end of the Mothball Fleet. This is the time to hit the delta when there isn't a lot of traffic. It's looking like there will be some great striper and sturgeon days ahead. Just give us a call if you would like to try some good Delta fishing. We have quite a bit of availability.
Date: Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 16:31:23
Current Report: Sorry that I have not had a current report for the last week and a half. My computer crashed and it is finally back running properly. I was down in SF Bay from last Friday through Tuesday. I fished leopard shark each day. The leopard shark fishing was slow. The cold windy weather did not help the fishing conditions at all. I tried all the old leopard shark spots but found the catching to be very slow. The largest leopard I caught was 52 inches but did not come close to limits. There are just too many boats fishing the halibut and stripers in the bay. I have moved the Fish 'n' Fool IV back to the City of Pittsburg Marina to target the sturgeon and stripers in the delta. When the wind is down the sturgeon fishing has been very consistent and the stripers are hitting both bait and trolled lures. I am looking forward to chasing these fish in the delta. The stripers are moving around the delta now. Some days it's real fast fishing and other days you have to work for them. This can be and exciting time to catch sturgeon and stripers and there is not a lot of pressure on the water during this next month. Give us a call to book a trip.
Date: Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 17:41:37
Current Report: Wind, wind, go away!! If the wind would go down we would have a lot better chance of catching sturgeon and stripers. Our last two trips did not produce but a couple of small fish. There were sturgeon in Suisun Slough but they would only jump around us and not take the bait. The wind was too intense on the open water to bait fish or troll. We have a small group out tomorrow and the weather looks like it might be a little better. We are going to the Bay for shark fishing July 18 through July 22. We have booked charters for all days but Monday, June 20, 2008. If you have a group that would like some leopard shark fishing give us a call.
Date: Thursday, June 26, 2008 at 14:51:13
Current Report: Today, was a great striper trolling day on the Sacramento River above the Rio Vista Bridge. My friend Clyde invited me out to go trolling with him. He had caught and released 11 stripers to 22 pounds before he called me. I climbed aboard and together we caught and released 4 more stripers to 13 pounds. Clyde kept two fish for dinner, one 6 pounds and the other a little over 10 pounds. These were two spawned out females. Earlier in the week, the Fish 'n' Fool IV took 4 anglers for a combination sturgeon striper trip. We had a few takes downs on the sturgeon bait in Suisun Slough but no real takers. We went to Middle Slough and caught stripers from 4 pounds to 13.5 pounds. We will be out again this weekend for sturgeon and stripers. It looks like trolling or bait can be productive. We are planning a few shark trips to the San Francisco Bay the first week in July and the third week of July. Give us a call if you are interested in leopard shark fishing during these weeks. We still have room or can plan another day. We will continue the sturgeon and striper trips the rest of the months. Just let us know if you want to do any of this good fishing.
Date: Sunday, June 22, 2008 at 19:23:01
Current Report: This week offered any weather you could ask for, from cold and very windy to hot a still. I ran the New Top Kat friday were we started out in the big water which was very cold 51 to 53. We did not find much bait on the north coast but we did get a few but fishing is not red hot. Was real nice to fish with out wind.
Date: Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at 08:54:37
Current Report: We fished on Sunday and Monday trolling for stripers and we only got a few fish. After that we thought it was time to get back to Pittsburg an start fishing for stripers and sturgeon. We will be fishing out of our home port for most of the summer only going to the bay when we have four or five days booked at one time. I will be doing Albacore when they show up. There is some very good sturgeon fishing in the summer months and no boat pressure and some good striper fishing both bait and trolling. The cost of fuel and the loss of salmon fishing has made us make these changes. We would take the time to tell you we just had the best spring run in a long time and thank ever one who injoyed it with us. Thank you a I hope you can join us this Summer. Barry
Date: Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at 18:58:05
Current Report: Monday was one windy day whichmad it hard to even see the bite. Tusday was a great moring on yhe income tide we trolled deep diver for a total of 15 stripers. We fished the out going tide with bait for only a few runs. Trolled homei in getting on more fish. All the fish we keep were spawn out female so I think we must have a school of d runner.
Date: Sunday, May 25, 2008 at 17:15:44
Current Report: Sunday not quit the same.but still got our fish. The fresh shad was big which slowed the under size bite. We fished the out go tide and agan the fastest water cought most of the fish. Out again the next two and will make up our mine what to do go back to Pittsburg on stay in the uper delta another week.
Date: Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 16:30:34
Current Report: What a great day rain little wind and the fish bit good. We fish bait at dacker island for 15 keeper stripers to 10 pounds and around 20 under size. O we got a 46 inch Green Sturgen Relest. Most the fish were down river fish and I think they will be around for a wail.
Date: Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 19:42:52
Current Report: The striper action has slow down this week. We still had some nice size bass all trolling but we see the bait fishing pucking up. The Sturgeon fishing has pick up also with a good numbers the last two days. We will move back to Pittsburg next week end a will be fish stripers and sturgeon most of the summer and will book for Albacore when they show up. This will be a diferent summer but call if you want any shark or rock cod and we will work that out.
Date: Monday, May 12, 2008 at 16:36:17

On Sunday we had a slower day with Barry at the wheel and Mark on the deck, maybe we should trade spots. Today Monday the FishN Fool IV had four out getting a full box to 10 pounds Barry at the wheel and Jeff ont deck. We had lots of North wind but we worked the back water off the Deep water chanel. For a real treat come see Capt Frank of Fury Sportfishing Wenday at C.S.B.A. Isleton at 6PM call 916 7776498 for more detals. Back the rest of the week.
Date: Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 15:13:48
Current Report: We fished the weekend with good size stripers but not real big numbers of fish. The fish we caught averaged about 9 to 10 pounds but we only got about one fish per rod. Where the little males went, we don't know. The weather was quite windy and we had big outgoing tides making for some dirty water on the main Sacramento. The old Sacramento was cleaner but still a little slow fishing. We are still running the shallow running Yo-Zuri and Bomber lures. We will be off the water till Sunday. The Fish 'n' Fool IV will be out Friday with a private charter. As the tides slow down again by end of the weekend, I expect, the fishing should pick up again. This striper fishing should be good through the end of May and then we will start thinking about some SF Bay fishing. If you are interested in any of this fishing, just give us a call. We still have room on quite a few of our trips.
Date: Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 12:58:25
Current Report: The striper trolling on the Sacramento River continues to be good. It has been a quite bit slower in the morning the last couple of days with the big out going tide. The water clears and has been more productive on later in the day on the incoming tide. Yesterday, the last fish caught was the biggest, weighing 18.4 pounds. The rest of the fish we kept were 4 to 9 pounds. The Yo-Zuri shallow running lures continue to be the hot lure. Some days the color doesn't make a lot of diffence. The winds have dirtied the water some but the stripers are still going through in big numbers and you just need to be patient till the best part of the tide. This striper fishing should continue through this month. The Fish 'n' Fool IV has a very short load booked for Monday, if you want to go fishing. Just give us a call.
Date: Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 15:05:51
Current Report: Well, today you had to keep both hands on the wheel to troll with the wind but fishing was still great. The group of four anglers aboard the Fish 'n' Fool IV left the dock at Vieira's about 6:10am and got back in about 1pm. They caught about 20 stripers the largest was a 12 pound male striper. They kept seven fish to eat averaging about 6 pounds. The shallow running Yo-Zuri floating lures continue to be the hot bait. The color pattern changes some days. It continues to be just a great spring run of stripers. By the condition of the fish it looks like this fishing will be good for at least a couple of more weeks. Barry will be fishing live bait in the Bay tomorrow aboard the Top Kat. Will report on the halibut and striper fishing in the bay at the end of this trip. Give us a call if you want to get in on some of this good trolling. We still have a few open days.
Date: Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 05:17:52
Current Report: Great day again. We had six out Monday for a fast day of striper fishing. We had limts and a fue mor by 11am. All fish cough in 6 to 7 feet of water and went from 4pounds to 11 pounds. Out again today but we have that wiind again so let you know what happen.
Date: Sunday, April 27, 2008 at 13:24:04
Current Report: The last two days striper fishing on the river has been good and the weather has been beautiful. Yesterday, there was a little breeze on the water and a lot of boats on the water all striper fishing. The six anglers caught a lot of little fish but we did start with a real nice 15 pounder. The pressure made the fishing a little slower than it had been the day before but we found fish in different areas. Today, we hit the river early and caught about 23 fish total and the biggest striper of the season on the Fish 'n' Fool IV weighed in at 40 pounds, 48 inches long and was released. This fish hit a pearl Yo-Zuri in seven feet of water. Larry Himango was the lucky angler who had never seen a striper that large. The group kept their limits of stripers from 7 to 12 pounds. The group was happy to get fish early because of the hot afternoon. The Fish 'n' Fool IV will be out the next few days trolling for the stripers.
Date: Friday, April 25, 2008 at 17:59:14
Current Report: The last two days have been very good striper trolling on the river. Yesterday, the four anglers limited with stripers from six to eleven pounds. The Yo-zuri lures were the answer. We fished both the shallow runners and deep divers depending on where we were fishing. The stripers hit various colors and patterns. Today, our five anglers also got their limits and more. The stripers are still in different stages, some have already spawned and others are a few weeks away and some are ripe to spawn now. The nice weather helps the trolling patterns but also puts a lot more fisherman on the water. It is best to find your own areas. There are a lot of stripers in the system, so, it is not necessary to fish in a big crowd of boats. We will be out through next week. This should continue for a few more weeks.
Date: Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 07:44:39
Current Report: The last two days were hard fishing with the big tide in the day time hours. We are catching bigger stripers but not a lot of them. Tuesday, we averaged ten pounds per fish. Trolling both shallow and deep diving lures has produced the stripers. We are staying away from most of the boats on the upper Sacramento river. As the big tides recede we are looking forward to some more productive fishing the next seven days.
Date: Sunday, April 20, 2008 at 17:24:53
Current Report: Sunday full moon big tide slows the fishing down. We left the dock at 6:45am and put a 14 pound striper in the boat at 7:05am. We thought here we go with a good day of catching. We trolled for two hours until we caught the next nine pound striper. Put a couple more in but that was the day. Nice fish but not to maney. Out all week and let you know how it look as the tide back off.
Date: Friday, April 18, 2008 at 16:54:18
Current Report: The last two days have been slower but still got good fish. Thursday, we had fish to ten pounds and today fish to 13 pounds. Today, the fish were not spawned out. Yesterday all the fish we caught had already spawned. This tell me new fish and after these big tided we should be off and runing agen. Rebooked my trip for Saterday becouse of big wind,. Date: Friday, April 11, 2008 at 17:25:50
Current Report: It was a great day of striper trolling aboard the Fish 'n' Fool IV. There were four anglers aboard who caught 13 stripers to 21 pounds and kept 7 of the good eating size fish. Most of the fish they kept were females. The spring run of fish is definately in the river now. The best lures were shallow running and deep diving Yo-zuri's. A variety of colors were working today. Most of the stripers were caught in the old Sacramento River from Isleton to Walnut Grove. We couldn't of asked for a nicer day. We will be out the next five days and are looking forward to this good action to continue. We have quite a few open loads this next couple of weeks, so if you want to get aboard, don't hesitate to give us a call.
Date: Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 19:45:02

Date: Monday, April 7, 2008 at 09:29:11
Current Report: The Fish 'n' Fool IV trolled the Sacramento River, Sunday with a group of five and caught striped bass to 13 pounds. The group took home five nice stripers and released smaller stripers. The best lures continue to be the Yo-suri floating shallow running lures and the shallow running bombers.
Today, the Fish 'n' Fool IV left the dock at Vieira's Resort with three anglers and by 9:30am they had caught limits of stripers to 12 pound. The best area, today, is below the Isleton Bridge. Yesterday, the bite went up above the Isleton Bridge and up above Walnut Grove. Now is the time the stripers are really moving and spawning. You'll find them one day in one spot and the next day the fish won't be there. It is best to find your own areas to troll where there isn't too much traffic. The stripers are all over the rivers. The spring run is definately on its way. Know is the time to get on the river. We still have quite a few openings for trolling, just give us a call.

Current Report: The Fish 'n' Fool IV has been out fishing the last couple of days for stripers and today for stugeon. The catching has been slow fighting both the wind and the tides. The group of four anglers Tuesday trolled the Sacramento River and caught three shakers, one keeper and a small mouth bass. The lures they used were both shallow running Bombers both the 16 and 17X sizes and the Yo-zuri shallow runners in the shallow water and put on some of the deep diving Yo-zuri in the deeper water. They also tried different colors, but nothing really sparked the fish to bite. Yesterday, the group decided to do some bait fishihg for the stripers. They fished Montezuma Slough due to the wind. They had a little action on shad but there was no size to the fish. Today, the charter is down at the Mothball fleet fishing for sturgeon. They have had some take downs but no sturgeon to the boat. Barry will be doing a seminar at the Fisherman's Wherehouse in Manteca on Highway 120 tonight at 6pm. He'll be covering the four seasons of fishing, covering striper and sturgeon fishing in the delta and potluck fising and shark fishing in SF Bay.
Date: Friday, March 21, 2008 at 18:09:49
Current Report: The trolling for stripers was a little slower today due to the full moon and bigger outgoing tide in the morning. Both of our boats had anglers aboard and we trolled the Sacramento River with Bombers and Yo-zuri lures. We kept 3 stripers to 6 pounds and a few other small and shakers stripers caught. We'll be fishing sturgeon tomorrow and will be back to striper fishing next week when the tide slows down.
Date: Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 20:02:12
Current Report: Today we troled up the stripers again and we had a good day, The size was better today with fish up to 8lbs and all cough on Yozuris floater. Color didn't matter. One color didn't do any better then the other. All fish cough in 7& 8 feet of water. Both boats out Wensday .
Date: Monday, March 17, 2008 at 17:21:13
Current Report: Today, the Fish 'n' Fool IV was out with a private charter of 6 anglers fishing for sturgeon. We headed to the Mothball Fleet and fished the incoming tide in 28 feet of water at the last row of ships. The bait we had were eel, roe, shad, ghost shrimp and grass shrimp. We presented this smorgasboard of food for the diamondsides. There was quite a bit of action. We boated one 48 inch sturgeon on the salmon roe and lost another on shad. When the tide turned it got a little rough so we headed to Suisun Slough. The outgo tide was slow. Most all of the action we had was on the incoming tide. The Fish 'n' Fool IV will be out again tomorrow fishing for striped bass. Then both of our boats will be back fishing for sturgeon on Wednesday. We still have a couple of spots on the Fish 'n' Fun for Friday and Saturday. The weather looks good and the fishing is picking up.
Date: Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 15:08:59
Current Report: A great day of fishing today. The Fish 'n' Fool IV had 3 anglers aboard trolling for stripers. They trolled the old Sacramento River for the best results. They caught fish at Long Island, had a double hook up by the orange windmill and picked up other stripers around the Isleton Bridge. The group caught 9 keeper stripers and 3 shakers. They kept 5 fish to eat. The fish were all caught on shallow running Bombers and Yo-zuri's. It was breezy but very fishable. The water is nice and clean and green. The temperature is at a nice 56 degrees. It looks like the spring run is about to get started. We will have both boats out this next week for stripers and sturgeon. We have some open loads going and still have room on couple of the days. This next week looks like good weather and it should be good fishing.
Date: Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 20:24:04
Current Report: We are home from the Sports Show in Reno and had both of our boats out on the water with groups today. We found the sturgeon fishing to be slow. The group aboard the Fish 'n' Fool IV had a couple of opportunites that did not develop completey. The group aboard the Fish 'n' Fun couldn't get any real good hits. We fished Suisun Slough, the Mothball Fleet and Sturgeon Ally. The weather was nice the sturgeon just would not cooperate. Eel, roe, herring were the baits we presented to the sturgeon. We are looking forward to start trolling for stripers this week.
Date: Monday, March 3, 2008 at 17:12:53

The last three day the income tide has been real good, maybe boat moving around. The bait is still eel. Water today was 49 to 50 dreee. We had a frend get three sturgeon 71 47 and a 58incher in 8 fteet of water today on eel. Wrong place wrong time that fishing.

Eel the best bait with lots of Pro-Cure.
Date: Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at 17:06:59
Current Report: Well I had to get out with this great weather but as usual we had the wind. Yesterday, I went to
Ryer Island and what a morning no WIND. I was working the gas wells so no fishing. I was all excited to go today. I had three good fishermen and what happens the wind is blowing. We tryed to fish the river but it was too windy for the out go tide. We went and hid till the in coming tide and went back to the river. It was nice with the wind blowing over us and the sun beating down on us. Guess what happen? The fish bit the best in days. Eel was the bait. We will be out the next few days and maybe the water temperature will go up. The water was 45 to 46 degrees today but the weather forcast is great the rest of the week.

Date: Monday, January 28, 2008 at 17:18:05
Current Report: We have been trying to get the trip we gave away for the Rio Vista Bass Derby out but the weather has been ruff. We got the trip out today. We gave a trip for two for Third Place in the Sturgeon part and John Freitas crew won the trip by the way they also won first place. I have been looking forward to this trip since I met them on the water a few months ago. I was thinking they could teach me some new trick, because they cough over 20 sturgeon in tree days of the derby. The wind did not let that happen. The cold water and wind under sun shine gave us a chance to do a lot of talking in many stops from the Sacramento River to Suisun Slough. I had a great time with these young guys and I am sure they will be back next year to win again.
Date: Sunday, January 27, 2008 at 12:22:54

Current Report: Yesterday the Fish 'n' Fool IV had a group fishing the Flash Sportfishing Catch & Release Sturgeon Derby. It was a great event. They had around two hundred entrants. There were only 11 legal sturgeon caught and released. They were the lucky recipiants of the money. The weather cooperated but the sturgeon are still not feeding much. The group on our boat had a couple of opportunities but no luck in hooking up with a sturgeon. Our boat fished in Montezuma Slough below the Grizzly Island bridge was the extent of the boundaries and then moved out to Garnet for the finish of the day. There was a great seminar and information get together for this derby at the Martinez Gun Club Friday evening. We want to thank Steve Talmadge of Flash Sportfishing for putting this great derby together and for including us on the panel at the seminar. This was very well organized and ran very smoothly on the water. We hope that Steve will continue this catch and release derby for years to come. We will support him in the effort.

Current Report: This is what we need, not the wind but some real rain. Give this 2 days for the water to mix up and the temp warm up and we will be off a running for the sturgeon to start biting. We will be off till monday but I think this will make it a good year.
Date: Tuesday, January 1, 2007 at 18:52:21
Current Report: We fished on New Years Eve and had action till the wind came up and made it hard to see the bite. We will off the water the rest of the week to get some work done on the boats. Date: Sunday, December 30, 2007 at 16:11:02
Current Report: The weather is still cold and the fishing is still slow. The Fish 'n' Fool IV started in Little Cut where they marked a ton of fish on the fishfinder. They caught a shaker sturgeon and a flounder but couldn't come up with any keeper sturgeon. They moved to Montezuma Slough but couldn't get any fish to stick on the hook in there either. Hopefully, the fish will be used to this cold water soon. We had a lot more action today than the last couple of days but the results are about the same. A good warm rain should change everything. We'll let you know waht happens tomorrwo.
Date: Friday, December 28, 2007 at 16:50:17
Current Report: The last three day I would call cold and tuff, We had both boats out and covered a lot of water cold water for a fue bass and no sturgeon. We had a fue sturgeon pumps but no hook ups. Date: Friday, December 21, 2007 at 19:54:05
Current Report: When I left my house in Isleton this moring the wind was blowing about 25mph and all I could say was great I have a sturgeon trip today. The wind always makes sturgeon fishing fun but as luck would have it the weather in Pittsburg was great. Off we went to Montezuma Slough and the weather even got better . We found a bunch of fish and set up. In 10 minutes we got the first pump on roe but missed it and that's how the morning went. At the start
of the out going tide Harry, one of my regular customers, rod went down and I yelled for him to set the hook. Harry set the hook and the rod doubled in half and off we went for a hour plus fight. The tide had pick up speed and with the light tackle all we could do is hang on till the fish got tired. We finally got see it. We knew it would be over size but we did not know how big. The best we could tell by taping was over 85 inches so we took pictures an off she went to fight another day. The fish bit on lighty salted row with Pro Cure Pedator Scent. After having an exciting beautiful day we made it back to the Marina. We will be out again tomorrow to figth some other good fish.
Date: Monday, December 17, 2007 at 19:23:33
Current Report: Another nice day today no wind and a lot warmer. We fish a combo trip today with 5 good sturgeon pump but not lucly. The striper were a little better with fish to 15lbs.. The bite is a winter bite which means watch your rod on the balancer and don't wait for the run; when the rod loads up set the hook. Today we saw green eggs on the 15lber. I'm not sure what that really means but I find it strange. The rain for the rest of the week should help tne sturgeon bit. The water is 48 to almost 50 so we will see what happen.
Date: Sunday, December 16, 2007 at 19:32:06
Current Report: Nice day today but slower fishing. Lots of boats runing back and forth which makes the fishing harder. We were able to get a little action . The night bite has been real good for both Sturgeon and striper but realy cold. Tide getting better this week a hope some rain. Will be out most of the week and will start fishing for both all week. Good luck .

Current Report: Cold Cold and more Cold. With the water at 48 and lots of fish showing on the finder you would think we get our fish and go home to get warm. Wrong we have to wait for the start of the slow tide to get them. Both shad and bull head live work today. The change of tide the best. Back out sunday and the tides are geting biger.
Date: Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 19:31:16

Water temp. down to 48 but the fish are still agressive and as tide get better so will the fishing.

Current Report: Sorry, I hit the wrong key. I had the Fold-a-Boat guys out today and I am sure that they are out trying to find a bigger boat already. We fished right outside of the harbor for a few fish and then went down between Roe and Ryer Island and caught seven more stripers. The best bait was shad with two of the fish caught on bullheads. The sizes ran from 6 to 9 pounds. I'll be running the gas wells and doctors appointment, tomorrow and be back fishing on Wednesday.

Date: Thursday, December 6, 2007 at 17:54:23
Current Report: Wet but the stripers are biting good again. We had a catch and release trip with 3 fishermen and caught 10 stripers to 12lbs all on shad. We did have to keep two fish because they were hooked deep. Remember our boats are heated and dry, which makes for a great day in the rain. We will start booking sturgeon trip next week and, of course, we will book striper any time.
Date: Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 19:29:01
Current Report: My 5 guys had car trouble in the fog this moring, they were comeing from Frenso. So I was ready to go with 3lbs of shad so I told Diana Iam going out in front of Pittsburg and fish the deep water. It was a good plan one hour 4 fish to 15lbs. All fish hook on shad and 8ot circle hooks. Realested all but one six pounder. Will be back out thur. and it sounds like we should get some rain. The water temp is 53 and is staying there so the fish are agrested so it should be good for a wail. Good luck.
Date: Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at 17:37:09
Current Report: Back on the water today but it was nice to take a fue day off. We had rain in the moring which was very nice to see and will help the fishing and hope we have alot more soon. We had limits of striper on the income tide to 10lbs with shad the bait. We will be out the rest of the week. By the way the new Cabelas was nice.
Date: Friday, November 30, 2007 at 17:38:22
Current Report: Today fishing was a little slow for us. The morning was cold and we could only find 1 fish while fishing the deep water off of Pittsburg. From there we moved into Montezuma Slough and found out that the boards were being put in. The locks are now in operation again. We fished a few spots in Montezuma but only mustered up 1 striper. With the locks working again that will change the way you can fish Montezuma Slough. The bait will school up which will get the striper going again. This will also slow some of the boat traffic down which will make for better fishing. We ended our day back out on the River by Pittsburg and boated three more stripers. All the stripers were small today. We will have both boats out Saturday. We will take a couple of days off and be back next week.
Date: Thursday, November 29, 2007 at 19:03:09
Current Report: Boy what a great day today, mid 60s and no wind. The fishing started off hot in the deep water out side Pittsburg but when the tide started going out the water got grassy and the bit stop. We move around but not much luck. We ended the day with 8 fish to the boat to 14lbs. The best bait today was shad. Back out Friday.
Date: Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at 17:03:00
Current Report: Today was a good day even with the north wind. We landed 8 stripers the bigest going 10bls. The bait was fresh shad and the water was 16ft deep. We will take wed. of to do long over do oil change. We will be back at it thur.
Date: Sunday, November 25, 2007 at 19:28:12
Current Report: What a difference a day made. Saturday, turned out to be calm and sunny. The Fish 'n' Fool IV was booked for a sturgeon trip. The group four anglers fished Suisun Slough, Grizzly Bay and between Roe and Ryer Island. They used roe, eel and shad as bait but were not able to get any of the sturgeon to the boat. Today, another nice day and both boats were striper fishing. The Fish 'n' Fun had 3 anglers who kept four stripers to 6 pounds and one 55 inch sturgeon using shad and bullheads. Shad was the best bait fishing in the middle grounds area. The Fish 'n' Fool IV fished in the same vicinity with five anglers and they kept 6 nice stripers to 13 pounds and release about that many smaller stripers. The tides are moving good this week. There should be some good catches
Date: Friday, November 23, 2007 at 18:18:05

Date: Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 17:45:15
Current Report: Yesterday and today the fishing has been a little bit slower because of the weather. The tides are getting better and the fishing should pick up some. Yesterday was quite windy which made it difficult to fish the outgoing tide but managed to boat a couple of fish to 13 pounds. Today the weather was very nice down by the MothBall Fleet and the lower areas of the delta. We brought in four stripers to 8 pounds. the best bait for the area we've been fishing has been bullheads both alive and cut. Tomorrow, the Fish 'n' Fool IV will be back at it. We will probably mix a little trolling and bait fishing for the day of striper fishing.
Date: Sunday, November 18, 2007 at 19:25:02
Current Report: The Fish 'n' Fool IV fished the last two days. Yesterday, the three anglers aboard caught a couple of stripers trolling and then turned to bait fishing with shad and bullheads and kept five stripers to 8 pounds. The weather has been about the same the last couple of days, cool and breezy. Today, the five fishermen bait fished and kept eight stripers to 12 pounds. The outgoing tide has been the most productive the last couple of days. The tides are getting better each day.
Date: Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 10:46:57
Current Report: Yesterday was a tougher day of striper fishing for both of our boats. We started out in the deeper water with the good incoming tide but the breeze and grass in the water sent us to shallower grounds. We caught just a few small stripers. The largest fish we kept was 6 pounds and a couple of smaller fish. We caught fish on both shad and bullheads. The cut bullhead was the answer for the largest striper. The weather is still nice but the barometer is starting to fluctuate and the breeze is blowing.
Date: Thursday, November 15, 2007 at 18:51:04
Current Report: Today was anonther great day with only little tideswe fished deeper water. The end of the income tide was on fire with 8lber on the averge. Date: Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at 17:07:13
Current Report: It was a beautiful day of fishing today. We were shooting an Anglers West program with Cal Kellog from the Fish Sniffer and Bob Simms from the KFBK Outdoors show and the fish cooperated. We started by trolling the new P-Line Predator Lure in Montezuma Slough. We caught seven stripers and then went out to the river to bait fish with bullheads and shad for stripers. The first fish on bait was a 43 inch sturgeon that took the shad. We got pictures and released the sturgeon. The next fish was a hot striper that took the live bullhead forward and wrapped around the anchor. We were able to get the rod around and got the 13 pounder in the boat and then released it. We ended the day with another nice striper about 10 pounds that took a cut bullhead. We couldn't have asked for a nicer day, sunny, warm and calm. The Fish 'n' Fool IV will have another private charter out tomorrow.
Date: Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at 19:36:56
Current Report: Bad tides make my job tuff but we work through it. I had 4 out today for 4 stripers. Not like the day before they only wanted shade not bull heads. The tides get better by the weekend so we still have a fue days to go. Wed. will be out doing Angler West TV show, we will be trolling in the AM and fishing bait in the PM. I will only hope for the best. Good Fishing.
Date: Monday, November 12, 2007 at 16:37:29
Current Report: Another beautiful fishing day on the river. The striper fishing continues to be good. The Fish 'n' Fool IV had 5 anglers aboard. The fisherman kept 8 stripers from 7 to 10 pounds. The best bait today was bullheads and the real good action was at the end of the day on the incoming tide. The fishing can be a little slower through the slow tides. The Fish 'n' Fool IV will report again tomorrow.
Date: Sunday, November 11, 2007 at 16:24:02
Current Report: Fishing is definately different every day. After the great day Friday fishing was a bit slower on Saturday and today was a steady bite. Of course, the weather took a little change on Saturday bringing some well needed rain. Today, the skies cleared and got some breeze in the area. Saturday, the Fish 'n' Fool IV took four fish for five people to 12 pounds and the Fish 'n' Fool IV took 3 fish to 10 pounds for the four anglers aboard. A lot of small striper action on Saturday. Today the Fish 'n' Fool IV had five fisherman aboard and they kept six stripers all about 7 pounds each. The Fish 'n' Fool IV will be out again tomorrow striper fishing.
Date: Friday, November 9, 2007 at 21:26:01
Current Report: What a great day of striper fishing, today. Our two boats had a group of ten fisherman from Progressive Glass in Stockton. The five aboard the Fish 'n' Fool IV got the biggest fish a 17 pounder and the big fish aboard the Fish 'n' Fun was just over 10 pounds. The group limited out on stripers with quite a few 5 and 6 pound fish. The other large fish aboard the Fish 'n' Fool IV was a 14 and 13 pounder. The weather was spectacular. Most of the larger fish came on the bullheads both alive and dead. The shad was the other good bait. Both of our boats will be out again tomorrow. Hopefully, the stripers will eat again.

The four anglers kept 5 stripers from 6 to 16 pounds. The biggest fish took a live bullhead and the rest took the filleted shad. There were a few missed opportunities but all and all a good day of fishing. Both of our boats will be out tomorrow chasing the stripers.
Date: Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 09:12:26
Current Report: What a week so far. I towed a friends boat from Sacramento to Pittsburg on Monday. It was slow but steady and could not have asked for nices weather to do a job like that. Then the last two days I have been working with Pro-Cure Bait Scents on a educational DVD about the use of the products when using baits and lures. The striper fishing continues to be consistent but the size of the fish fluctuates. The tides are getting better and the fishing should get a little bit faster. I am out again today for striped bass.
Date: Sunday, November 4, 2007 at 19:39:57
Current Report: The weekend we had both boats out fishing the DPR derby on Sat. and back to our water today. Sat. we fish the San Joaquin River with not much luck, and I would tell you that it was not much fun. It was just grass & grass and more grass. Then on Sunday we had fun catching fish to 19lbs. Best bait today was bullhead.
Date: Friday, November 2, 2007 at 19:04:47
Current Report: The Fish 'n' Fool IV had 5 guys aboard on an open load. A couple of the fishermen wanted to catch and release. It was quality stripers today but not a lot of them. The 5 anglers caught nine stripers all in the 10 pound class. Two of the fisherman kept one 10 pounder and a nine pounder. The bullheads were the best bait today but the shad bait hooked a few.
Tomorrow both of our boats will be out fishing for stripers with anglers fishing the Rick Doyle Memorial Striper Derby.
Date: Thursday, November 1, 2007 at 18:58:48

The stripers were very active today but there was a lot more of the smaller stripers today. The fish that our clients kept were from 5 to eleven pounds. Quite a few smaller keeper size stripers were released. The weather was beautiful again with very little breeze and a hot afternoon. The Fish 'n' Fool IV will be out again tomorrow.
Date: Saturday, October 27, 2007 at 17:30:04
Current Report: Fish"N"FoolIV had four out today puting some nice striper in the boat. We fished shad and bullheads for fish to 17lb.Good fishing today with out the north wind. We will have both boats out Sunday.
Date: Saturday, October 27, 2007 at 09:59:18
Current Report: Both the Fish 'n' Fun and the Fish 'n' Fool IV had fishermen aboard yesterday. We continue to catch stripers on shad and bullheads. Ralph Castilla aboard the Fish 'n' Fun got his limit a 16 pounder and a 6 pounder with some smaller fish released. The 4 anglers aboard the Fish 'n' Fool IV had a bit of difficulty getting the stripers to stay with the bait. They had lots of great runs on bait and did not come back with the striper. They ended up taking an eleven pound striper and a seven pounder. The weather really fluctuated. It would be calm and then the NW wind would blow and then it would go down a bit. There are lots of stripers in the system and bait and trolling are both producing some nice catches.
Date: Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 09:46:34
Current Report: Yesterday was just the best weather to be out on the water fishing. Both the Fish 'n' Fool IV and the Fish 'n' Fun had 4 anglers each aboard for striper fishing. The striper fishing continues to be very good. The family group aboard the Fish 'n' Fun kept seven fish from 5 to 10 pounds to take home to cook and released a beautiful 23 pound striper which took a needled bullhead. The group aboard the Fish 'n' Fool IV had a little more difficulty being patient with the bait on the balancers and were not able to take home many stripers. The baits we used were both shad and bullheads. The shad is definately getting most of the action but the big fish are starting to go for the bullheads. Everyday is different. One day the bullheads get the most action and the next day it is shad. Take both these baits for the best success.
Date: Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at 16:21:06
Current Report: Just another great day of fishing on the Fish 'n' Fool IV. The five anglers who hopped aboard the boat this morning brought 10 stripers to the boat from 5 to 20 pounds. They released the big fish and kept 6 fish from 5 to 13 pounds to take home to eat and had a few opportunities that were missed. The best action was at the beginning of the incoming tide. They fished with bullhead and shad. Today, all the action was on the threadfin shad. The anglers did not have a run on a bullhead all day. Eleven feet of water was the depth that we fished today. Both of our boats will be out striper fishing tomorrow. Another fun day of fishing and catching striped bass.
Date: Monday, October 22, 2007 at 16:53:08
Current Report: Boy what a day today. No wind a lots of striper for the getting. We had a short load with only 3 fishermen today. We had limts by 10 am and then had C&R for a hour. At the end we kept 6 fish from 7 to 10lbs. Most cam on circle hook bullheads.Back at it ang tus.
Date: Monday, October 22, 2007 at 10:00:46
Current Report: The delta remains the hot spot for striped bass both trolling and bait fishing. Yesterday started out calm and beautiful in the Pittsburg area. The Fish 'n' Fool IV and the Fish 'n' Fun had striper anglers aboard. We went to Montezuma Slough to bait fish concerned that the wind would come up and it did. By 11 am the north wind was blowing and made the catching a bit more challenging. For the conditions it turned out to be a pretty good day. A few of the anglers wanted to catch and release which works well when using circle hooks. The stripers that were taken were all the good eating size, 5 to 11 pounds. In the late afternoon the wind settled some and we look forward to some warmer afternoons the next couple of days.
Date: Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 20:50:13
Current Report: Striper fishing was a bit tougher today. The weather was pretty but windy. The stripers were not really feeding on the slow incoming tide. The Fish 'n' Fun had three ladies aboard that fished with bullheads and shad but were only able to boat 3 stripers to 7 pounds. The Fish 'n' Fool IV had a private charter and kept 5 fish to 11 pounds and found the beginning of the outgoing tide at the end of the day to be the best for bigger stripers. The group caught other small stripers but released them. Tomorrow we should start with some outgoing tide and the movement is getting better each day. Looking forward to a good day of striper fishing tomorrow.
Date: Friday, October 19, 2007 at 20:25:30
Current Report: Today turned out to be a beautiful fishing day of bright sun, no rain and a little breeze. Both the Fish 'n' Fool IV and the Fish 'n' Fun were out fishing for striped bass. The Fish 'n' Fun had three anglers and kept three stripers, 8 pounder, 9 pounder and 16 pounder. The Fish 'n' Fool IV had a family of 5 aboard and had stripers to 15 pounds. The Fish 'n' Fun bait fished all day with shad and bullheads. The small bullheads were definately the best bait today although the Fish 'n' Fool IV took its big striper on shad. The tides were a little weak today making it a little slower bite than it has been but the quaility was real good. We will be out again tomorrow for a fun day of fishing.
Date: Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at 16:49:29
Current Report: I fished in San Pablo bay today running the Top Kat. We fished bull heads for striper but only got sharks. It turned out to be a nice day. I will be very happy to be back in the delta tomorrow. The delta is still on fire for both trollers and bait fishermen. The tides are getting better and the fishing can only get better so get out and enjoy the delta and its striper fishing.
Date: Monday, October 15, 2007 at 19:54:54

There was steady action all day in Montezuma Slough and everybody had a good time.
Date: Saturday, October 13, 2007 at 20:17:20
Current Report: The weather was much better than yesterday but the fishing was a little slower. The Fish 'n' Fool IV took out six people for the Rio Vista Bass Derby. They caught a lot of fish on Shad but the bullheads caught the bigger fish. They were fishing in Montezuma Slough in thirteen feet of water. Lots of action but a lot of little stripers. We will be off tomorrow helping at the Rio Vista Bass Deby Fish Fry Dinner run by the state organization of the California Striped Bass Association. This will start at 11am and go till 4pm at 45 Main Street in Rio Vista. The price is $7 and should be good. The award will take place at 4pm at this same location.
Date: Friday, October 12, 2007 at 20:29:16
Current Report: Both of our boats the Fish 'n' Fool IV and the Fish 'n' Fun were out with a fun group of six people each trying to catch a striper for the Rio Vista Bass Derby. The target size for the derby is 34 1/2 inches. We caught lots of stripers but none in the target range. Our groups had a good time. The Fish 'n' Fool IV kept 4 stripers to about 8 pounds and the Fish 'n' Fun kept 5 stripers to about the same weight. We were bait fishing with fresh shad and bullheads. Both baits produced stripers. At the end of the outgoing tide was the fastest action catching fish. We released a some small keepers and some undersize striped bass. We'll try again tomorrow for a derby size striper.
Date: Thursday, October 11, 2007 at 17:14:30

All the fishing took place around Rio Vista on the Sacramento River trolling shallow running Bomber Lures. You can see a little piece on the Channel 13, 10 o'clock news tonight and a longer clip on Sunday night news 11 to 11:30pm.

Date: Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 11:11:09
Current Report: Yesterdays trip on the Fish 'n' Fool IV was a little bit slower than the day before. The breeze was starting to produce a weather change. The six anglers aboard were new fisherman. The bait bite was the best. They kept 4 stripers caught on shad to 7 pounds fishing the incoming tide. On the slack tide and outgo tide we trolled and picked up some undersize and small stripers. The group took home six stripers to 7 pounds. We fished Montezuma Slough for most of the action.

Date: Monday, September 3, 2007 at 19:10:21
Current Report: The ocean has been flat for a few days this last week and some of the fishing was great. The albacore came alive on a flat ocean this last Tuesday through Thursday and then on Friday afternoon it got windy and the fishing slowed a little. Still lots of albacore were caught on those days.
The ocean salmon continues to be the big question mark. There were a couple of days early in the week when we thought that maybe the salmon were coming in along the Marin Coast line and just as fast they disappeared again. Who knows what is going on with the salmon this year.
The rock fish and ling cod fishing continues to be very good along the coast and out at the Farrallon Islands. Live bait, rock cod feathers, or swim baits all are effective in catching the many varieties of rock fish available. Fishing any where from 80 feet down to 30 feet of water will produce some nice catches around Duxbury. The Fish 'n' Fool IV was back out in the ocean on Wednesday and had a nice selection of rock fish, two nice ling cod and 1 halibut caught along the Marin Coast line for 5 anglers.
The halibut fishing is still going on in the bay. The biggest porblem is that the majority of the fish caught are shakers. This should be an indication that next year halibut fishing should be spectacular. The striper just never really made it in any number dowon to the bay. This had been disappointing for the bay fishermen. The delta is showing signs of another real good year of stiped bass bishing. The serious trollers are picking up fish to 30 pounds in many different areas of the deltafrom Broad Slough all the way up the Sacramento River and some of the sloughs.
The Fish 'n' Fool IV had a leopard shark trip in the bay yesterday and for a charter of 6 kept 10 nice leopards using midshipman for bait fishing Richardson Bay.
The Fish 'n' Fool IV will continue the ocean and bay trips from Marina Bay Yacht Harbor, Richmond till the end of this month. The Fish 'n' Fun is at the City of Pittsburg Marina, Pittsburg fishing for stripers and sturgeon in the delt. You can fish the ocean, bay or the delta. Just give us a call if you want to get aboard.

Date: Monday, July 19, 2007 at 20:26:18
Current Report:
This has been quite a summer, so far. Besides the ocean and bay fishing being a bit slow, we had the tragedy of the Fish 'n' Fool IV sinking at its berth in Richmond on July 4th. We are in the midst of getting the boat back together for charter, which will take a little bit of time. In the mean time we are trying to ready the Fish 'n' Fun for bay and ocean fishing. Until all this can be accomplished we will be taking our trips with Neptune Charters out of Loch Lomond Marina. Just give us a call and we will let you know where our trips will depart for fishing.
The stripers and halibut have been good on the slower tides. When the tides get big the water gets dirty and it is much harder to find the fish. The stripers are starting to show on the rock piles in the bay and outside on the beaches the halibut and stripers are taking live bait.
The ocean salmon continues to be the big mystery. One day the boats will find limits of fish and then return the next day and find that the salmon are gone from that area. Trolling has been the best bet using the Roto Chip bait holder with anchovy.
The rock fishing is the most consistent fishing out in the ocean, both along the Marin Coast line and out at the Farrallon Islands. There are nice ling cod and a big variety of rock fish available on rock cod rigs, jigs or bait.
The leopard shark fishing is good in the bay. We like to target the shallow areas for the leopard shark. We only charter for these trips.
Just give us a call and we will let you know where and when our charters are leaving for the next week or so and then we should be settled back at Richmond for the rest of the season.

######### Sturgeon Scallopini#######
- 2 lbs. Sturgeon Fillets
- 2 Cups Seasoned Bread Crumbs
- 4 TBsp. Vegetable Oil
- 1 lb. Fresh mushrooms
- 2 Bunches Green Onions
- 1 Cube Butter
- 2 Cups Dry Vermouth
- 1 lb. Fettuccine (cooked)
Cut sturgeon fillets into medium thin strips. Coat each strip with seasoned bread crumbs and fry in vegetable oil (1 or 2 minutes on each side). Place fried sturgeon strips in a 13x9 pan and keep warm in a low oven.
Make a sauté with the mushrooms, green onions, butter and vermouth. Add more butter and vermouth if needed to keep a sauce. Pour the sauté over the sturgeon strips and serve with cooked fettuccine.
Serves 6-8
######### Simple White Fish Fillet Bake #######
- 2 lbs. fillets, all bones removed
- 1 Cup onion, finely chopped
- 2 Cup sour cream (the real stuff, not reduced fat)
- 1 Cup mayonnaise (the real stuff)
- 2 to 4 jalapeno peppers, finely chopped (optional)
- 1 Cup dry white bread crumbs, use little more if needed
- 1 tsp. Paprika
Slice fillets so the portions are all about 2 inches wide.
Spray an oven proof casserole pan with cooking spray.
Roll the fish in the bread crumbs and arrange the fish by portion one layer thick in the pan. Overlap any portion of the fillet with the thin portions of another fillet or double over the thin portion of the fillet onto itself. Thin portions of tail fillet can be layered by two. Leave a bit of room between portions.
Mix together the sour cream, mayonnaise, chopped onion, and chopped pepper.
Spread the mixture over the fish, filling in the spaces between the portions.
Sprinkle with bread crumbs and paprika. Bake for approximately 25 minutes in an oven preheated to 425 F.
This recipe will serve 6 to 8 people and is even better reheated the following day. Recipe preparation can take place ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator and popped in oven just before dinner.
